We are starting 2010 with a very small list of adoptable chows. Teddy, a beautiful neutered male, has just been given "urgent" status because his caregiver is moving out of his house at the end of January. Please contact chowrescueontario@hotmail.com for more information.

Email is our preferred choice of communication. It may take longer for phone calls to be returned. Please visit our petfinder site often, to check for new additions. While you are here, click on our Happy Tails to view recently adopted dogs.
Who We Are
We are a small group of volunteers, all Chow Chow owners, who strive to find "forever homes" for Chows in need. We do not have a facility to shelter dogs; however, we act as a liaison between Chows in need of homes and people interested in adopting. We receive information on Chow Chows in need of adoptive homes through branches of the OSPCA, Humane Societies, and other rescue groups, as well as through owners needing to surrender their dogs.
Looking for a particular age, gender, or personality type? Contact us at chowrescueontario@hotmail.com. We will send you a questionnaire and put you on a waiting list. You will be contacted when a suitable dog comes up for adoption. Because we have a waiting list, we are often able to connect dogs and people without having to list them.
Adopting a friend
Adoption applicants are given information on the available Chow Chows that are most suitable for their homes. Applicants make arrangements to visit the dogs at their current locations. The information that we have on each dog's personality and characteristics is provided by the shelter/group/current owner.
If the dog you select is in an animal shelter, you are obligated to go through the shelter's application/interview process, pay the adoption fee, and agree to the contract standards of the institution.
If the dog is in a private home or in foster care, we will do the screening, and charge a small finder's fee, which may be used for expenses such as foster care, vet bills, transportation, boarding, etc.
