News

Our new "Meet Your Match" program has been a success. If you are looking for a specific type of dog, we just might be able to help you find it. We now have success stories under our belt where we have gone specifically looking through shelters far and wide to find a dog for someone with specific requirements. There is no cost to you for this service, we are just happy to help dogs get out of shelters and into homes. Contact us and we will tell you more about this program.

Who We Are

Lil Haven Rescue is an all breed rescue dedicated to helping save the lives of wonderful animals that have found themselves in kill shelters or dire straits through no fault of their own. We are a small group based in Haldimand County, Ontario, but our animals can be placed into loving homes throughout the province. We are not for profit and will also offer assistance in helping to rehome local animals in need. As a rescue, we don't believe that there is a one size fits all description of the perfect family for our pets. We will consider adopting many smaller dogs to families with children and adopting some animals into condos or apartments. We believe in right matches!

Adopting a friend

If you see a pet listed that interests you, please send us an email with the name of the animal and adoption interest in the title of the email. We will respond promptly and provide you with an application and further information. We try to respond to phone calls, but prefer email. Typical adoption donations range from $100 to $250 dollars depending on the age of the dog. All dogs are current on vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered unless too young.

How you can help

WE NEED FOSTER HOMES! We are not a facility and all of our animals live in foster homes until they find their forever home. What can be more rewarding than knowing that you helped save a life? Thinking of adopting, but want to make sure you have found the perfect pet? Or perhaps you've never owned a pet before and want to see if it is the right choice for your life. Fostering can provide all of these opportunities for you if you live in Southern Ontario. The more foster homes we have, the more lives we can save. If you are not ready to adopt or want to help animals in need, please consider fostering. It will make a world of difference for that animal and maybe for you too! Please email for more information.

Donations

We can also use food, treats, toys and dog crates. We are currently collecting to pay for treatment of a heartworm positive dog and for surgery to remove a tumor. Donations through the "chip in" button or they can be called directly into our vet.
