WHO WE ARE...
The four Dog Speed founders/directors met when deploying in New Orleans to do animal rescue after Hurricanes Katrina & Rita. We have since continued our rescue efforts back in Ontario, building our animal sanctuary, providing fostering/adoption services, rehabilitation, animal welfare education, supporting legislative changes for improved animal welfare laws, and maintaining our deployment skills for disaster/rescue operations.
We have taken part in several puppy mill seizures in conjunction with UAN, SPCA Canada, and HSI, and deployed to Mississippi prior to Hurricanes Gustov and Ivan making landfall, transporting approx. 100 animals from Gulfport inland to Jackson, MS, setting up and running an emergency shelter and subsequent rescue activities at several locations while down there.
We are a non-profit registered charity and all our endeavors are financed entirely on donations. We appreciate your support in helping us help animals in need. Visit our website at www.dogspeed.org for more information on how you can help.
