**Please note: we are not a public shelter, we are a privately owned & housed rescue. We have a very strict adoption process so please contact us (email preferred) prior to attempting to meet the pet you're inquiring about. You will be asked a series of questions, for vet references and a home visit will be performed prior to meeting your pet of choice.**
We are always looking for foster homes for our dogs while they are awaiting placement in their new homes. Please contact us for more details if you are interested in offering a temporary home for a dog in need.
Who We Are
Epic Tails Horse and Dog Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer organization serving all areas of Ontario. We originally began as a member of Doberman Rescue in Ontario but our doors opened to include both horses as well as many different breeds of dogs when we moved to our farm in Eastern Ontario. Although we still specialize in fostering and placing Dobermans, other large or extra large breeds of dogs we also welcome the short legged friends in need. We also offer a safe and warm environment for unwanted horses of any age, breed or soundness.
All of our dogs are altered prior to adoption and receive basic immunizations as needed. We offer full disclosure of each animal's medical status and temperament assessment to potential adopters prior to adoption.
Adopting a friend
We welcome all inquiries on any of our dogs or horses available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals an adoption application must be completed prior to approval. Epic Tails Rescue will make a point to "match" the dog or horse to the best possible forever home depending on special considerations such as the compatibility with other pets, compatibility with children, any known history or experiences from the past as well as any special needs.
Please note that we are not a shelter or public facility. We do not adopt outside of Southern Ontario or the Montreal area. This is run out of our home and the homes of our volunteers. Please call prior to planning your visit to ensure we are here when you get here! Thank you!
