The vast majority of dogs in the pound are young adults, victims of uneducated or uncaring owners. Before you let your heart be swept away by those sweet innocent puppy dog eyes, please do your homework. Puppies are a pile of work and require constant supervision or they will develop bad habits (out of boredom, no fault of their own) and end up in shelters as young adults. Think about why you want a dog AND WHAT KIND OF DEMANDS IT WILL BE ON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. Your dog could live 12 to 15 years and over that time span you will invest a fair amount of time, energy, and expense. If you are not prepared to make this commitment, would another less demanding animal be more suitable? Adopting a puppy should never be a spur-of-the-moment decision. A lot of thought, consideration and research should be undertaken before a new pup is brought into a home. Owning a dog is a choice for life. Consider the care, obligation and responsibility that is attached for the life of that pet. Choosing the breed that's right for you requires some work. There is no substitute for making a careful study of each breed's characteristics and narrowing down the field until you are left with the one that best suits your temperament, lifestyle, accommodations and taste. |

Canada's Guide To Rescue Dogs Please Don't Give Up On MeWe want to make sure that these dogs never have to worry about a safe place to lay their heads again. All of our rescue dogs have a special place in our heart and we will make sure to follow-up with our dogs until we are certain that they are adjusting to their new homes and that our adoptive families are comfortable with their new addition, however long it takes. Thanks for your interest in rescue dogs. We couldn't do what we do without people like you. Our adoption process is as follows: 1. Fill out an adoption contract. The more information that a potential adopter can provide the easier we can place the right dog to the right family. 2. We will review the application and contact the references provided. A home visit may be required. If we feel comfortable with the home we will contact you and conduct a phone interview. 3. Finally we will set up a time for the potential adopter and the adoptive dog to meet and see if they are a good match. > |

Our Rescue is always looking for qualified foster homes to care for our rescue dogs. If you’ve ever thought about fostering but didn’t know how to go about it, please contact us. Our rescue will pay for vet costs, food and supplies. All you have to do is supply your time. Fostering can be a very rewarding experience! It's all the benefits of having a dog without the long term commitment. The dogs will love you!!!
