URGENT:Sat Aug 30th: Waveland, MS must evacuate over 70 animals in anticipation of Hurrican Gustov, currently scheduled to hit as a category 3 hurricane, on Monday Sept 2. LOYAL Rescue has agreed to take in six dogs and someone is driving down today to get them. If anyone has temporary foster space to help keep these animals alive, please email Brenda at brenda@loyalrescue.com for details. The more foster homes we can offer, the more dogs that will make it out alive. Please, consider fostering one of these lost souls. Can anyone foster itty bitty kittens? We've been asked to help with tiny kitties with no momma. The babies are eating on their own but are currently in a shelter environment in Toronto which is NOT a good thing for babies just weeks old. Once old enough, they can go back to the shelter for adoption but we just need to find space to keep them safe for now. Also, many many ferel cats need barn environements so if you can offer up a little space for these ferel cats, or can take in the tiny kittens, please contact Cassandra at cassandrajackson4@hotmail.com. On another note, we are desperate for transport help. Can you spare just one hour a week (or more if you'd like) to help us transport dogs in need? We may need to move dogs from one foster home to another, a shelter to a foster home or even just a "leg" in a transport route. No vehicle is too small. If you are able to help with transporting dogs, or if you go to your cottage weekly, or travel for business and wouldn't mind a four-legged friend to tag along, please emal me at brenda@loyalrescue.com for more details. THANK YOU!

And now, a few words from me:
I'm a very sweet, special girl. As a mini dachshund I only weigh about 11lbs. I am not even two years old and have had several changes in my life. Unfortunately, my first family moved and didn't want to take me with them - infact, they left me in a crate in the house when they moved out. Thankfully the new family moved in quickly and found me. My second family didn't have any more time for me, so I came back into rescue. I am very people oriented and love to be near and to please. I am a great walker on leash and really love car rides. I am really good with children. I have some special needs though that come with my breed. You see, I have some pinched nerves in my back and this causes me to hop like a bunny alot. This doesn't stop me though, I get around just fine. I am being treated by a vet and a chiropractor and am so much better already and they all tell me that there will be continued improvement. I do have trouble holding my pee as the nerves to my bladder are affected but this is improving with each chiro visit to the point that it's only a dribble right now. What I am trying to say is I may have back issues my entire life so you need to remember this when you apply to adopt me. I have been abandoned twice already and really need a forever family, one than can accept my challenges as they arise. I am truly worth it. I will snuggle and play and love you lots if you just give me a chance.

Many dogs that arrive in rescue come with absolutely nothing - no toys to play with, no blanket to sleep on, no food, no collar or leash. All these are required for each and every dog we care for daily. Any and all donations welcome - toys, blankets, sheets, towels, dog beds, crates, leashes and collars, food and mostly a monetary donation. The dogs will be forever greatful.
Email communication is preferred and the quickest way to get a response.
News
Please consider a donation to LOYAL Rescue. Who We Are
We are a group of individuals who foster dogs in our own homes. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER and we do not have hours of operation. We do not have one location where dogs can be viewed. Please remember this when you apply to adopt a dog - they could be fostered anywhere in the province of Ontario. We are always looking for more foster homes so we can save more dogs. Would you consider fostering a dog in desperate need? Please e-mail for more details.
Adopting a friend
The dogs on the next pages are all up for adoption unless their status has changed to Adoption Pending. There is an adoption application that must be completed including references and a home visit required. This application can be downloaded at www.loyalrescue.com and returned through email to loyalrescue@netscape.ca.
We welcome all applictions but consider only what is in the best interest of the dog in our care - we do not adopt out on a first application received gets the dog basis. The process can take anywhere from one week to ........... well, who knows. We will check your references and if we have trouble connecting with the, this may delay the process. We will call your vet, so PLEASE, if you are applying to adopt, please call your vet as well and let them know to expect the call and that it's ok to release information to LOYAL Rescue as most vets will not discuss their patients without prior consent. If during the process you find another dog, please let us know so we can move onto another application. Every volunteer with LOYAL Rescue is just that - a volunteer, and most have full-time jobs and a family to take care of, in addition to the volunteer work. We have to use our time wisely so would appreciate knowing if your application should no longer be processed.
FOSTER HOMES NEEDED!
All of our dogs are housed in private homes. We do not have a facility that you can view all the dogs at one time and are always in need of more foster homes. If you have an interest in a specific dog, please download an adoption application at www.loyalrescue.com. Once the application is received back by LOYAL Rescue, we will give you a call to answer any specific questions you may have and if all goes forward, schedule a time to visit the dog.
