These two adorable little dogs would love to find a home together. They are clean, quiet, and exceptionally affectionate, good with everyone including children of all ages and other pets.
There are many wonderful dogs waiting to be rescued and we are always in need of caring foster homes. If you would like information on how to become a foster parent or have any questions about what is involved in fostering, please contact our foster coordinator at:
Calling our rescue Ugly Mutts is our tongue-in-cheek way of paying homage to all of the not-so-purebred, slightly over-weight, under-bitten, wonky-eared, dewclaw-missing dogs of the world.
They may be the underdogs but they are the Top Dogs to us.
While our main concern will always be saving dog lives, our goal is to join you in celebrating and maximizing the fun and enjoyment of owning a dog. "Who we are and What we do": Ugly Mutts Dog Rescue is a group of dedicated and experienced volunteers that have been rescuing dogs and promoting responsible dog ownership for over 25 years. In the past 4 years alone our team have placed nearly 500 dogs into loving forever homes. All of us here at Ugly Mutts combines our love for all dogs with a desire and commitment to rescue and re-home great dogs that deserve a second chance.
We are a humane, not-for-profit dog rescue that is run entirely by volunteers and is funded solely by your donations.
Ugly Mutts dog rescue does not have a shelter. The dogs live in private loving foster homes where they are treated as our own dogs. We have no central address and we do not have “visiting hours”.
Bringing a dog in for placement or viewing dogs currently available for adoption is done by appointment only. While our committee members are primarily based in Toronto and Hamilton, our dogs may be located anywhere throughout Southern Ontario. Our Adoption Application
We do not adopt on a first come, first served basis choosing instead to match each pet with the most suitable home to ensure that both the pet and the adoptive family have a positive and successful integration. All of the pets are in foster homes and are viewed by invitation only to approved adopters. Need A New HOME For Your Pet? Placement Information
Please note that owner surrendered pets are accepted as space permits and must be assessed prior to being placed in foster care. Ugly Mutts reserves the right to refuse any pet it deems unadoptable. Donation Information We gratefully accept donations of any kind including cleaning supplies, old towels and sheets, dog supplies including food, gently used leashes and collars, and baby items such as gates, playpens and used toys.
We also accept monetary donations made directly to the rescue or in the form of payments made directly to our veterinarian to help cover medical costs.
