Ugly Mutts Ontario dog rescue, dog adoption and dog rehoming agency is dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned canines, and supporting dog owners that are looking to rehome their pets. With a host of loving, pet-friendly foster homes acting as dog sanctuaries, canine companions are loved and cared for as our own pets until they can be adopted into suitable, permanent new homes with committed adopters. Our "Happy Tails” pages are enjoyed by many and allow previous pet owners to follow their companion pet’s progress as they transition into their new home.

If you see a dog currently listed for adoption that you think would be a good addition to your family, please submit an application for consideration. All of our rescue dogs have been assessed for suitability, spayed or neutered, vaccinated including booster, rabies and bordetella, are heart worm tested (-), flea treated, dewormed and have had an overall health check. All they need now is a loving place to call home.

"Who we are and What we do": We are an all breed Ontario dog rescue and companion animal rehoming service that is comprised of dedicated and experienced dog rescuers along with a host of volunteer foster families, funded solely by your donations. Working together with local shelters, other rescues, and caring pet owners we are able to rescue, rehabilitate, train and provide quality foster care to homeless and owner surrendered pets until they can be adopted into suitable, loving new homes with committed adopters. Homeless dogs that are lucky enough to be accepted by Ugly Mutts are kept in a loving home environment where they are treated like our own pets. Dogs never “run out of time” and continue to be well cared for until they find their perfect new home. Once adopted each pet’s story is shared with everyone through our “Happy Tails” pages which show the culmination of our volunteer’s efforts, the thankfulness of previous dog owners, and the happy faces of the families who have adopted their “perfect pet.” Bringing a dog in for placement or viewing dogs currently available for adoption is done by appointment only. While our committee members are primarily based in Toronto and Hamilton, our dogs may be located anywhere throughout Ontario.
