If you can help foster a dog or cat for us, please contact us as soon as possible! As a Foster, you provide the love and a temporary, safe home and we supply the food, vet expenses, etc.
We can't do it without you, please help us save even more animals by becoming a Foster home.

Who We Are
S.O.A.R. is a (very) small but very dedicated group of volunteers in Southern Ontario, Canada, committed to rescuing all animals in need - from all breeds of dogs and cats, to any other animal needing our help.
With extremely limited resources, S.O.A.R. (a non-profit incorporated organization) rescues every single animal that it is able to. We extend this to animals that have been abandoned or rejected due to ill health, abnormalities or old age; something most rescue groups are unable or unwilling to do.
We are able to do this only with the public's generosity. We receive no funds from any agency, corporation or government. All monies are raised through the time and efforts of our volunteers at events through out the year, such as dog shows, pet shows like Woofstock and SOAR-run events like our annual Christmas Party, Spring Fling, etc.
Our Mission Statement
Our goal is to find loving, life-time homes for our dogs. We carefully screen all potential adoptive and foster homes, including reference checks, veterinarian reference check, home visits and follow-ups. All animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, vet checked and are fully vaccinated.
Adopting A Friend
All S.O.A.R. animals have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated and vet checked.
Adoption applications can be sent by email, regular mail or you can fill one out on line by clicking here.
Applications are NOT processed on a first-come, first-served basis, as we strive to match the right pet to the right home. After initial screening, if your application for adoption is approved, your references will be checked and a home visit will be conducted. For more information on adopting one of our animals, please contact us.
Adoption fees are as follows:
Dogs - $325.00
These fees cover the costs of spaying/neutering, all vaccinations, vet exams and micro-chipping. As a non-profit organization, no money is paid to anyone within the organization; all fees go towards covering any costs incurred while rescuing and rehoming the animals.
Due to the Ontario Liberal government, in particular, Ontario Attorney-General Michael Bryant, please ensure you are fully aware of the terms and conditions of Bill 132 (the "pit bull" ban), and are able to commit fully to any dog that will fall under this law.
