TRANSPORT HELP ALWAYS REQUIRED!!

Happy Paws is constantly transferring dogs to other shelters and rescues across Ontario. Unfortunately there are not many drivers in the New Liskeard area. If you are able to assist with transports, we need to hear from you! Please contact Cassandra at: cassandrajackson4 @ hotmail.com (without spaces) if you can help!

Who We Are

Happy Paws Pet Orphanage and Adoption Center does not have a shelter facility, but rather, animals in our care stay with loving, reliable foster families in and around the Temiskaming Shores area. We do not recieve government or any other type of fundng, we rely solely on donations from the generous public. Sometimes our animals come to us with behavioural or medical problems, but most often they are brought to us because of family problems, moving, financial reasons,etc.. The animals that we care for are here through no fault of their own, and are just itching for a new family to call their own! We give them the love, care and support they need, and then we try to find them permanent homes.

We are always working to solve the pet overpopulation problem, so all of our animals are either spayed/neutered before adoption or must be fixed by the new family shortly after adoption. If you have not done so yet, please spay/neuter your pets! Not only will it help to reduce pet overpopulation, but it will also make your pet less suseptable to certain types of cancers and other diseases.
We are always looking for dedicated families who might be interested in fostering dogs or cats (or both!). If you have the space and time for a foster dog or cat, we're looking for you! You provide the love, we'll provide all of the supplies and veterinary care! Please call or email for more information.

Adopting a friend

If you are interested in adopting an animal from Happy Paws, the first step is to get in contact with us! We'd like to hear from you if you find a pet that you think would be perfect for your home! After our initial contact with you, there are steps to go through for adoption. An application must be filled out and we must do a home-check prior to adoption approval.
All of our animals are either fixed before adoption, or must be fixed shortly after adoption. This will be arranged with you before the adoption is finalized.
Our adoption fee for cats ranges from $50 - $75. Our dog adoption fee is $150. This fee is in place to try to cover the animal's spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and other care.

Come Visit Us!

We do not have an actual shelter facility, all of our animals are kept in loving foster homes until they are adopted. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, please contact us and we will make arrangements for a meeting at a time that is convenient for you! We look forward to hearing from you!
