CRN requires all potential adopters to complete the steps outlined below. For more information about our adoption process visit the CRN website at www.collierescuenetwork.com.
Our Adoption Process
1. Application Form: An application form must be filled in if you are intersted in one of the dogs listed with Collie Rescue Network (or if you would like to be placed on our waiting list). The adoption application can be found at www.collierescuenetwork.com. Our Adoption Coordinator will be in touch within a few days but if you do not hear from anyone after 5 days, please email us at adoption@collierescuenetwork.com to ensure the application arrived.
2. Home Visit: If your application is approved we will arrange to have a volunteer come visit you in your home to chat about rescue, rescue dogs and the dog you are looking at adopting. For more detailed information on the home visit, please visit the CRN website at www.collierescuenetwork.com
3. Meet the dog: If ,after the home visit and after you speak to the foster family and our Adoption Coordinator, it seems like the Collie you are looking at really is a good match for your home/family, we encourage you to meet the dog in person. We realize, being a rescue that is very spread out, that distance doesn't always make this practical - and in that case we will ensure you speak several times to the foster home to make sure you aks any and all questions that will help make that important decision - is this the right dog for us and are we committed to the adoption for life!
4. Adoption Contract: Once everything is a go - you will be asked to sign the adoption contract. The contracts is between yourself and CRN and states, among other things, that if, for any reason at all, ever, you can no longer care for the dog, he/she will be returned to Collie Rescue Network.
5. The Adoption Fee: The fee to adopt a dog from Collie Rescue Network is $350.00. The current cost that CRN incurs per dog is just over $545.00, so the $350.00 is to help off-set the cost of all the dogs while in the care of the rescue.
Collie Rescue Network is a national, all volunteer group established for the rescue and care of Rough and Smooth Collies that have been abandoned, surrendered, lost, neglected or abused. Our goal is to place each and every Collie that comes into our care into a carefully screened, approved home where they will be loved and cherished as a member of the family. We are looking for families who are willing and able to commit to these sweet and gentle souls for the rest of their lives.
For additional information about the rescue, please visit the CRN website at www.collierescuenetwork.com.
