Welcome to Backyard Friends. We are not a registered organization, just a few friends who love cats. My name is Linda and I started Backyard Friends in 2002 by rescuing 12 cats. Over the past 10 years we've rescued & adopted out over 1,000 cats, but have now retired . What we will do is try to find homes for cats that can no longer remain with their owners providing that the cats are spayed/neutered (if over 6 months of age) with vaccines up to date BYF will list them on the site for adoption. Please note that all inquiries will be forwarded directly to the owner and adoption fees and arrangements must be made directly with the owner. Also please note that foster homes are needed by all of the other rescues, and I'd be happy to discuss this with anyone interested in fostering. It's a great experience just knowing that you have helped to save their lives.
Dec/11.. We have now closed down all intakes and will only be listing cats on the site to help other people find homes. If this is something that you are interested in please note your animals must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age and vaccines up to date. All inquiries will be forward to the owner.
Adopting a friend
The adoption process involves filling out a form that will be emailed to you and if approved, your email will be forwarded to the owner of the cat you are interested in. Please note that all adoption fees are paid directly to the owner. This is a service provided by Backyard Friends and we have no other information on the animal than what is listed on behalf of the owner.
