LEROY!

Leroy is a 6 year old Bassett Hound - a rare sight at this shelter! He is a gorgeous little guy with those droopy eyes and dragging ears that just tug on your heart strings. A relatively low-maintenance guy, Leroy is looking for someone to take walks with and just be with. Visit our list of pets for adoption to view Leroy's picture and a full description.

August is Adopt-a-Dog Month!!
If you’re thinking about adopting a dog, consider adopting one from the Ontario SPCA! Here you will find some information to make finding your new friend a successful venture.

Careful consideration before adopting, including breed research and planning, plus plenty of love, patience and a sense of humour, will foster a strong and loving relationship that will help you and your dog enjoy your time together and make you friends for life!

Adopting a dog will… 1. Provide you with a faithful and fun companion. 2. Help lower blood pressure, prevent heart disease and fight depression and loneliness. 3. Encourage you to exercise, which is great for managing stress and for your overall health! 4. Help your children to learn responsibility. Children can help feed, walk and bathe the dog! 5. Save a life! Lots of dogs need good loving homes and a second chance.

For more tips and ideas about how to successfully raise your new dog, ask for a Fact Sheet next time you stop into the shelter.

Let’s make Adopt a Dog Month a time to give dozens of dogs a second chance at a great life. There are new dogs at the shelter weekly, so come on in or give us a call to se if your new best friend could be waiting for you here.

Yard Sale!
On September 6, the Ontario SPCA Renfrew Branch will be hosting its annual Yard Sale in the parking lot of Smitty's Home Hardware. We invite you to attend this event, and see what treasures you can find. In addition, we also invite you to donate household items (excluding clothing and electronics) to the sale. Items may be dropped off at the shelter during it's hours of operation.

Who We Are

The Ontario SPCA Renfrew Branch upholds the same missions, values, and objects as all members and affiliates of the Ontario SPCA. Though by no means a large shelter, the Renfrew Branch provides a temporary good and healthy home for animals while they wait to find their "fur-ever" families . The shelter focuses on preventing cruelty to animals by educating the public and being invovled in the lives of the animals in the community.
