Our Shelter Mascot Harley

Harley is our HERO!
Harley was brought to the shelter in June of 1997. His owner had kicked him in the face resulting in the loss of his right eye and a broken jaw. Harley has surgery every month to drain an infection caused by the kick. It's been 3 years since his injury and he still has problems.

Who We Are

The Ferret Aid Society has had it's doors open to ferrets since November of 1996. In this short time, we have cared for over 1,000 ferrets and rescued hundreds more from poor conditions.

We are a no kill shelter, allowing even the oldest and illest ferrets the same care as the young and healthy. None of our ferrets are ever put to sleep unless medical science is not able to help them.

Adopting a friend

In order to adopt any of our "kids", it is required that an application form and contract be signed. There is also a short interview that must take place. Because most of our ferrets come from abusive situations, we feel it is important to make sure they are going into the best, suitable homes available.

All of our ferrets are 100% rehabilitated before they are concidered ready for adoption. This means that ferrets coming from even the most abusive home/breeder are loving and friendly pets.

Our adoption fees range from $75 to $120 and includes shots, spay/neuter. Senior ferrets or special needs ferrets usually have no adoption fee.
