NEWS

Thank you to all that have sent their one dollar and in some cases have sent more. I truely appreciate it and thank you for taking the time to help the rescue. We are getting closer to getting the concrete for a building. I would never reach my goal without your help. God Bless Update we are still pushing forward to get the concrete. We have now raised approx $1000.00 with the help of a large donation from one person. Thank you to all who have helped out. I would love to send out thank you cards to each person but instead I will tell each of you thank you on here. If you sent one dollar or you sent more each one is very important. God Bless each of you and know that I truely appreciate you taking the time to help this rescue out. All the rescue dogs send hugs and kisses.

PLEASE READ before emailing.

#1 - If a dog is posted he or she is available.

#2 - I do not ship dogs.

#3 - I will adopt out of state but you have to be willing to come here and pick up your new family member.

#4 - I do not Hold Dogs. It is first come first serve after the application has been approved.

#5 - If you are interested in a dog fill out the application.

#6 - I do not allow anyone to come out without an application on file and I will only give the address and directions once the app is approved. NO EXCEPTIONS. I stay very busy and everything is done by appointment ONLY.

#7 - Please do not ask me to housebreak the dogs. I spend hours upon hours saving them, the least you can do is be willing to housebreak your new family member if they need it. I took the time to housebreak the ones that ended up staying with me so please know that you can do the same. It just takes a little time and patience.

#8 DO NOT DUMP YOUR DOGS OUT HERE. First off I keep the gates locked and the watch dogs run free. They will not allow someone to come on the property without me out there. Second when you dump your dog out front the dog is too scared to walk up with all the other dogs barking at him or her so they bolt across the busy street everytime and are run over and killed. It is your fault ! If you have a dog that needs a place to go email and we will discuss.

Remember I save large breed dogs from the kill shelters who would other wise die and I help to train them as drug dogs and we give them to any Police Dept at no cost. I volunteer my time for this program. If you would like to add a Police Dept to the list please email me and I will get them added. Donations always accepted to help us continue this wonderful work.

SAVE A PRECIOUS LIFE AND ADOPT !!!!!!!!!!

ABOUT US

All dogs on this site have been spayed or neutered, treated for worms, vaccinated, started on heart worm preventative, and treated with Front Line.

There is a lot of cost involved in running a rescue, as you can see, veterinarian services, food, housing and general care. I have to charge an adoption fee, so please do not ask me to give you a dog/puppy for free. I am not in this to make money, I do this from the heart. I am trying to save these guys and girls from dying at the pounds and to keep them from breeding, bringing more unwanted dogs into this world.

DONATIONS ACCEPTED

If you choose not to adopt at this time, I ask you to think about a donation. If you can’t make a donation but have some doggie stuff that is in good condition , please keep me in mind I am always in need of leashes, collars, dog houses, dog crates, dog pens and dog runs. Any donation is greatly appreciated and please remember no donation is to small. I collect aluminum cans and cash them in and put the money towards an animal that needs to be spayed or neutered. All donations and adoption fees go back into this program to save others from dying. Email and I will be glad to pick up your donations or you can send it in the mail to, OK Adopt A Dog, P.O. Box 974, Harrah, OK 73045.

ADOPTING A FRIEND

APPLICATION !

Please if you are not willing to give a dog 2 weeks to adjust to his or her new home please do not apply. Could you move into a strange house with strangers and feel right at home ?

I get no grants no help from anyone I survive off my own income and adoption fees and please know that the adoption fees do not even cover the feed bill for one month and I constantly owe the vet for the services they have rendered. I am one lady who works very hard to save as many unwanted dogs as I possibly can.

Please know that a animal will never leave this rescue without first being spayed or neutered NO EXCEPTIONS the buck stops here ! We do all this work for one reason and that is to try and help stop the over population of dogs. There is only ONE way and that is to spay and neuter. Thank you for listening

RESCUE RANGER BRIDGE POEM

(Author Unknown)

Unlike most days at Rainbow Bridge, this day dawned cold and gray, damp as a swamp and as dismal as could be imagined. All of the recent arrivals had no idea what to think, as they had never experienced a day like this before. But the animals who had been waiting for their beloved people knew exactly what was going on and started to gather at the pathway leading to The Bridge to watch.

It wasn't long before an elderly animal came into view, head hung low and tail dragging. The other animals, the ones who had been there for a while, knew what his story was right away, for they had seen this happen far too often.

He approached slowly, obviously in great emotional pain, but with no sign of injury or illness. Unlike all of the other animals waiting at The Bridge, this animal had not been restored to youth and made healthy and vigorous again. As he walked toward The Bridge, he watched all of the other animals watching him. He knew he was out of place here and the sooner he could cross over, the happier he would be.

But, alas, as he approached The Bridge, his way was barred by the appearance of an Angel who apologized, but told him that he would not be able to pass. Only those animals who were with their people could pass over Rainbow Bridge.

With no place else to turn to, the elderly animal turned towards the fields before The Bridge and saw a group of other animals like himself, also elderly and infirm. They weren't playing, but rather simply lying on the green grass, forlornly staring out at the pathway leading to The Bridge. And so, he took his place among them, watching the pathway and waiting.

One of the newest arrivals at The Bridge didn't understand what he had just witnessed and asked one of the animals that had been there for a while to explain it to him.

You see, that poor animal was a rescue. He was turned in to rescue just as you see him now, an older animal with his fur graying and his eyes clouding. He never made it out of rescue and passed on with only the love of his rescuer to comfort him as he left his earthly existence. Because he had no family to give his love to, he has no one to escort him across The Bridge.

The first animal thought about this for a minute and then asked, "So what will happen now?" As he was about to receive his answer, the clouds suddenly parted and the gloom lifted. Approaching The Bridge could be seen a single person and among the older animals, a whole group was suddenly bathed in a golden light and they were all young and healthy again, just as they were in the prime of life.

"Watch, and see" said the second animal. A second group of animals from those waiting came to the pathway and bowed low as the person neared. At each bowed head, the person offered a pat on the head or a scratch behind the ears. The newly restored animals fell into line and followed him towards The Bridge. They all crossed The Bridge together.

"What happened?"

"That was a rescuer." The animals you saw bowing in respect were those who found new homes because of his work. They will cross when their new families arrive. Those you saw restored were those who never found homes. When a rescuer arrives, they are allowed to perform one, final act of rescue. They are allowed to escort those poor animals that they couldn't place on earth, across The Rainbow Bridge.

"I think I like rescuers," said the first animal.

"So does GOD," was the reply.
