Today is Saturday the 6th of Feb. We were at Petsmart today with many of our cute dogs. There were lots of people there, some looking for dogs, some with their dogs. It is always a good day when I see people who love and take care of their animals.
We were lucky to have two families who found one of our dogs that would work well with their family. I wish there had been many more, but I am thankful for each and every one of them!!!
Next week on Friday and Saturday I will have dogs at Petsmart in Edmond, since they are having a Adoptathon weekend. We will also have dogs at the Petsmart in Moore, on Saturday.
So if you are looking for a special new firend and faithful companion, come visit us!
1st Saturday of each month we will be at Petsmart on 63rd and May. 11am to 4pm
2nd Saturday of each month we will be at Petsmart in Moore.
11 am to 4 pm
3rd Saturday of each month we will be at Petsmart at 63rd and May.

Lassie, Rin Tin Tin and Toto don't show up in rescue.
We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completelty trained, perfectly behaved dog....We get the leftovers.
Dogs that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained", and badly treated.
Most rescue dogs have had it.They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another.
They've never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company.
The've lived outside, in a crate, or in the basement.They're scared, depressed and anxious.
Some are sick, some have given up!
But we are Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on a dog.
We know that a dog is a living being, with a spirit and a heart and feelings.
Our dogs are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are a part of scared creation,
and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminister Champion.
So please, please don't come to rescue in the hopes of getting a "bargain" or indeed of "getting" anything.
Come to Rescue to give, to love, to save a life-- and to mend your own spirit.
For rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. I can promise you this--

Who We Are
We are located in Edmond, Okla. We are incorporated with the State of Oklahoma and are a 501(c)3 non-profit group. We are a small rescue and passionate about the Chihuahua breed and their wellness.
We are dedicated to finding loving "forever homes" for unwanted, unloved, and homeless Chihuahua dogs................
We are a spay/neuter rescue and believe that there are more dogs than there are good homes to put them into. We would like more people to consider adopting exsisting dogs, rather than breeding more! And we want to encourage people to also consider the older dogs, since they are some of the most loving dogs and most in need of loving homes. These dogs have been someone's faithful companion, and for whatever the reasons, have been discarded like old garbage.......
All rescued dogs live as our personal pets until a "forever home" is found. The dogs are not caged, but roam freely in our home! All veterinarian needs, including spay/neuter will be provided by "Because of You" prior to the adoption. We also do dental, shots, fecal, heartworm test and a prevention plan, grooming, nail care, microchipping and full exam.
Adopting a friend
Because of You requires an adoption application where we will verify personal and veterinarian information. A home visit will be set up after the verification process is complete. An adoption decision will be made by the Board of Directors to approve the placement. (We do not work on a first come first serve basis.) The adoption fee is $150.00. This fee helps us to pay for the vet needs of future dogs, pay for food, etc. Most of our rescued chihuahuas vet bills far exceed the adoption fee. With countless chihuahua's needing knee, hernia and dental surgeries, our adoption fee is very little to ask.
Here are a few things to remember when looking to adopt a dog from us.
* Understand that BOYCR requires a home visit PRIOR to adoption
* Home must have a securely fenced yard
* ALL animals in the home must be spayed or neutered

An Adoption Agreement is then signed by adoptee, mandating that the dog be returned to Because of You Rescue should circumstances change and the dog is no longer wanted.

There are many Chihuahua's that come into rescue with medical needs far beyond just a normal vet exam, vaccinations, and spay or neuter. Many times Chihuahua's come in with skin conditions, parasite infested and in need of surgery to correct problems. Some of the surgeries that our rescued Chihuahua's have needed are, knee surgeries and hernia removals. Often these are surgeries that are necessary in order for the dog to live an active, pain-free life. By donating to the ER Fund, you are helping "Because of You"; help the Chihuahua's that would otherwise live a life of pain.

What is a Sponsor?
A Sponsor is a kind-hearted person that wants to help save Chihuahua's in need.
What must be done in order to become a Sponsor?
1.) Look over all the Chihuahua's bio's and see which one you would like to sponsor.
2.) Click on the "Sponsor" button, located at the bottom of each Chihuahua's page. Enter the amount you would like to donate for that Chihuahua's care.
3.) Sit back and let that humble feeling sink in....yep, you just did a great thing! A pat on the back is well deserved!

Hi Barbara
I am sending you a picture of the babies. They are doing great! My husband has kind of taken over Hope. She goes with him when he visits the neighbors, goes to bed when he does, etc. Diego is doing great. He has started running around the house, jumping on the couch and bed. If I cant find him I just have to go to the bedroom. He likes to get under the covers :) He actually will growl at the cocker, Murdock, if Murdock gets too close to his food. It's really funny. They play alot and are a great addition to our family. We love them very much.
