We will be at Tractor Supply, Saturday May 23 from 10:30am to 1pm.
We will be along Prospect. 3008 N. 14th St Ponca City, OK

Ponca City Spay/Neuter Ordinance No. 6086 is now effective (as of June 9, 2009). You can find the full text of the ordinance at:
http://www.sterlingcodifiers.com/codebook/index.php?book_id=647
We will also have pamphlets to hand out, as well as Animal Control.

Our group does not have a foster home that can keep cats and kittens, so we can no longer take in any cats or kittens.

Who We Are

PetsForLifeRescue is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma. We consist of a group of volunteers who assists the local Animal Control and other sources to minimize the euthanasia rate in our community by finding homes for abandoned and unwanted animals.

PetsForLifeRescue operates solely on donations and help from volunteers, the pets are fostered in our rescuers' homes. Our adoption fee helps with the medical care for the animal. All animals are spayed/neutered when they reach sexual maturity, current on vaccinations, treated for worms, fleas, ear mites and any other medical need the animal might have.

PetsForLifeRescue members are ALL VOLUNTEERS. Every penny you donate to the PetsForLifeRescue goes directly to our canine friends. None of our rescuers are paid or compensated from any income/donation received. We are working towards having non-profit status with the 501c3, so your donations will then be tax-deductible.

Our Mission Statement

Pets For Life Rescue is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to:

  • Promoting spay/neuter in order to reduce pet overpopulation.
  • Counseling and educating the public and assisting the pet owner in finding new homes for their pets.
  • Counseling prospective adopters on selecting the best pets for their lifestyle and giving advice concerning pet behavioral problems.
  • Having every animal that comes into our program spayed or neutered (at appropriate age), vaccinated, tested for heartworms and parasites.
  • Supporting the right of animals to be free from cruelty, neglect, and abuse.

Our Mission

  • To foster our rescue animals until they can be placed into permanent, loving homes, saving them from otherwise being euthanized.
  • Our animals come from various sources: some are from local animal shelters, some are strays people find but cannot keep, and others come from owners who are forced to surrender their pets for various reasons.
  • Our animals receive a complete veterinarian work-up upon arrival, and quarantine if necessary. This includes spay/neuter, heartworm testing for dogs 6 months and older, parasite testing and treatment, flea/tick treatment, heartworm prevention, vaccinations.
  • We also educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering.
  • Our goals

  • To one day help lower-income people with spaying/neutering and vaccinating their animals when they otherwise could not afford to do so.
  • We strive to help reduce pet over-population in our community.
  • A mobile transportation unit/RV for our Adopt A Pets.
  • Acreage for a large facility. Sadly, Pets For Life Rescue is inundated with far more requests for help than we have space or funds to meet.
  • Foster and adoptive homes for large dogs, animals with behavioral issues, sick or senior animals are hard to find. We desperately need more room to house these animals for long term care.

  • Adopting a friend

We require an adoption application be filled out and approved, see below. Our adoption application helps us to get to know your needs and wants in an animal companion, and helps us to make sure each animal finds the best home possible. Every animal's temperament is different, so the more information we share, the better placement we can make for you and our animals. We also do a vet check to ensure the best possible placement that will last a lifetime. All applications MUST be filled out completely to be considered. We DO NOT ship our animals and MUST meet the adopter. We require that you live within driving distance of Ponca City to adopt one of our foster pets.

We do reserve the right to refuse a potential adopter at any time for any reason.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please email us at petsforlife.grace@gmail.com or petsforlife@att.net.

We strive to make FOREVER placements and the best matches for our animals AND the families searching for a lifetime companion. Unless otherwise noted all pets are to be kept as indoor pets.

    ADOPTION FEES

Adoption fees can vary, as each animal may require different medical treatment. Some of our pets will be listed as a VIP, meaning they are in high demand for adoption and quickly find a loving home, their adoption fee is higher than the other pets in our rescue. Because of this, they will leave a financial legacy for the other animals in our care who may need expensive medical care or more time to find a loving home.

    OUR POLICIES

First, an application must be filled out completely and approved. Since we are a group of foster homes and do not have a facility, we make appointments for meeting with prospective adopters.

When pets are too young for spay/neuter, there is a refundable deposit that is required by the State of Oklahoma. After the pet is altered, send a copy of the vet receipt and we will mail the deposit to you.

If you are approved but are unable to pick up your new pet for more than a couple of days, you will have to pay a nonrefundable deposit of half the adoption fee. When you pick up the pet, that will be applied to the adoption fee. IF you do not show up at the specified date, the deposit will be kept and the pet adopted to the next approved applicant.

When paying an adoption fee, hold deposit, or spay/neuter deposit, please have cash, money order or use PayPal. You do not need an account with PayPal to pay that way, we can send a request for money. Send to: PetsForLife.grace@gmail.com
