OK Malamute Rescue was founded by Virgil J. Reed (1932-2008). He bred, showed, and rescued Alaskan Malamutes in Houston, TX and Coweta, OK. Virgil dearly loved this breed, and was very kind and supportive of the entire Rescue Community in this area for over fifteen years with his boarding kennel (Hilltop Pet Hotel). Virgil passed away in mid-July of 2008. Virgil's wife (and co-owner of this kennel) Shelby, passed away in mid-September of 2008.

As of May 31, 2009, OK Malamute Rescue intake is CLOSED. The animals are being professionally relocated, and when that is fully accomplished, this website will be removed. THANK YOU for your kindness and support.
