OK Malamute Rescue was founded by Virgil J. Reed (1932-2008). He bred and showed Alaskan Malamutes in Houston, TX and Coweta, OK. Virgil dearly loved this breed, and was very kind and supportive of the entire Rescue Community in this area for over fifteen years with his boarding kennel (Hilltop Pet Hotel). Virgil passed away in mid-July of last year. Virgil's wife (and co-owner of his kennel), Shelby, passed away in mid-September of last year.

As of May 31, 2009, OK Malamute Rescue is CLOSED. These animals are being professionally relocated, and when that is accomplished, this website will be removed. THANK YOU for your kindness and support.
