!,ALL SHELTER DOGS WERE ONCE NORMAL PUPPIES
…eager to learn how to live with people. Yet far too many dogs are surrendered to shelters largely because their owners were unaware of how to prevent predictable puppy/adolescent behavior, temperament and training problems.
The Dog Star Daily.com multi-media puppy training guide provides owners with all they need to know to raise their puppies, including free downloads of two of Dr. Ian Dunbar’s books — BEFORE You Get Your Puppy and AFTER You Get Your Puppy. Please help us spread the word about this wonderful dog training resource by downloading and emailing this poster (as well as the following PDF eBooks) to anyone that you know who is thinking of getting a puppy or has recently acquired one.
Pontotoc Animal Welfare Society was incorporated as a nonprofit, charitable orgainization in September, 1982.
PAWS operates the animal shelter for the purpose of sheltering lost, unwanted, sick and injured animals until a new home can be found or the animal is humanely disposed.
PAWS also has an agreement with the city of Ada for the placement of impounded dogs and cats. These animals must be kept for 72 hours allowing the owner time to reclaim.
Donations to this organization are tax deductible. We are always in need of collars, leashes, canned cat and dog food, treats, toys, bath towels, paper towels, pens and paper. We love having visitors. Please come and see our new "cat room" where cats can be free in a nice sunny room to play and sleep. PAWS also now has a "visiting room". There you can take the dog/cat that you like and get to know them better.
WAGS, WOOFS and MEOWS from all the furkids at PAWS and thank you for visiting our site.
Adopting a friend
Remember when you adopt a fur kid, they will need time to adjust to their new enviornment. Positive training with lots of yummy treats and lots of love will help make the transition go more smoothly. We will always be here to help with any questions and can refer you to good trainers if needed.
PAWS is open Monday - Friday to the public from 10:00 am until 4:00pm
Saturday from 10:00am through 2:00pm.
We are closed to the public on Sunday.
Adoption fee for dogs is $75.00 and cats $30.00
PAWS is in need of volunteers for various tasks. Should you have a desire to help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. It can be very rewarding work and fun..
Would you like to be a foster parent? This would help PAWS help more of the furkids. References and home visit are required.
