The Wood County Dog Shelter is committed to placing dogs in safe, loving,
and responsible homes. We work with a multitude of rescue organizations
in an effort to place as many dogs as possible.
We also strive to provide information, advice, and assistance to the public in selecting the correct dog, caring for the dog, and acclimating to the new life.
If you are interested in adopting a dog from the Wood County Dog Shelter please stop in and look at our dogs. We are constantly receiving new dogs so if you do not find what you are looking for please continue to check back frequently.
All of our dogs are $75.00
Included in that price is a $50.00 certificate, which goes towards getting the dog spayed or neutered, you will also receive a current Wood County Dog License.
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase a dog.
If you live with parents or if you rent a home, written permission is required to adopt a dog. The permission must be signed and dated by a parent or landlord and must indicate the address where the dog will be kept.
It is mandatory that all dogs adopted from the shelter be spayed or neutered.
The majority of the dogs available for adoption were found as strays, as a result we must assume they have not been vaccinated. Vaccinations are not included unless otherwise indicated by shelter personnel.
