We are a small foster-based rescue group dedicated to rescuing animals in need from high kill shelters. We do NOT have a shelter. We primarily rescue the "bully breeds" since there is so little assistance out there for them and there is an incredibly large number of them in shelters. They truly are wonderful dogs who deserve responsible owners, and we are here to try and help make sure that happens for the lucky few we can save. These bully breeds include: American Pit Bull Terriers, American Bulldogs, American Staffordshire Terriers, and mixes of these breeds.
Adopting a friend
The first step to adopting one of our dogs is to fill out an adoption application! You must do this PRIOR to meeting our adoption program dogs. You can have an application sent to you by emailing JamesDeanBullyBreedRescue@gmail.com. Once the application has been completed and returned we can set up a meeting for you and the dog(s) you are interested in meeting. If you are interested in adopting any of our bullies there are some restrictions you should be aware of before you request an application. First, please visit www.pittiesplace.com to make sure you can legally have a bully in your area. Second, contact your insurance agent to find out if they are restricted under your current policy. There are companies out there that forbid them to even be on your property. If this is the case you will need to consider switching to another company (like Farmers or All Seasons) that provides the coverage you need without breed restrictions. It is STATE LAW to have and maintain a $100,000.00 liability policy when owning these dogs and adopters without proper documentation of this will not be considered. Getting or switching insurance is really not a headache, and believe me when I say our dogs are worth it. Please contact your State and local legislators and let them know the insurance law should be repealed!
