They all deserve to be pet of the month. We are waiting on a possible Pomeranian coming in. He is neutered and weighs around 18 pounds. Yes he is a big boy.. Also a young Great Dane might be coming in soon. The rescues are in the works. We do not notify people. Please keep checking our site for photos and descriptions of new rescue when they come in.

We are doing our best to save as many dogs, baby horses, and Sugar Gliders in need as we can
safely and financially afford to do. We are a private run rescue which
means I personally financially support this rescue with my own funds.
Sadly due to lack of donations the abandoned baby horse and Zebra rescue must be put on
hold for a little while. I spent pretty much 99% of my own money building the barn and putting up a pasture. Both still need more money to complete.
We are still in need of hay and horse
pellets along with cash gift amounts. I have 3 horse rescues that have become our mascots and will forever stay here to educate people.

PAPILLONS & POMERANIANS is privately run by Dottie Schira who also
heads DOGS2RESCUE (Abandoned Pregnant Dog Rescue).
We take in dogs
from KILL shelters, pounds, and owners who can no longer keep them. Our informative web site is at

Our newest venture is THUNDER HILL
"ORPHAN FOAL & ZEBRA" RESCUE. We take in orphaned foals that were ripped from
their mothers' and headed for the slaughterhouse
since the newest thing is selling ponies coats over seas and their meat is sold
to restaurants in Europe. How horrible. I am
taking in some of the orphan foals, raising them for a few months and adopting
them out. Unfortunately we have to purchase these foals to save them. It
costs us anywhere from $300 to $500 per foal which does not include vet bills,
feed bills, Farrier fees and so on. These foals will end up being great horses.
We also take in Zebras that people purchased not realizing that they do not

Adopting a friend
There is an application form adopters must fill out, a phone interview and a contract that must be
signed with each animal adopted from us. Dog care information is given with
each dog/puppy to help new owners to better care for their new pet. Pups are
given their first set of shots and are wormed. Adults are spayed/neutered,
heart worm tested, updated on shots, wormed and given any other medical care
they may need. Adoption fees may vary.

We are located in Medina, Ohio just south of Cleveland. Viewing of the animals are by appointment ONLY. Our phone hours are Monday - Saturday
11 AM till 6:30 PM EST. Appointments to see the animal you are interested in
can be made later than 6:30 PM.
