Our foster homes are full so we are unable to accept any new dogs. Please go to Petfinder.com and search for other bully breed rescues for assistance! We can courtesy post to our websites to assist you in rehoming your dog but we are sorry but unable to take any into our foster care program. Do not give your dog up for FREE and do not post on Craigs List if you want your dog to go to a safe home. Most people who are looking for dogs to fight or use as "bait" are on Craigs List and send their wives with kids to come and pick up the new "family" pet. Please be responsible with your dog and send us pictures and a bio of your dog and we will network to help. Dont give up and dont give your dog up to anyone who is gong to breed, fight, or chain/pen it! Also make sure your local pound or shelter does not euthanize your dog just because of its breed! Please network and find a responsible rescue or shelter to help you with your dog or ask us for help before you dump your dog at your local pound... where they will die alone and in fear!!

UPDATE: Please go to Germantown Animal Health Clinic on Facebook for daily updates on Lucian! Lucian is a sweet loving dog who is great with kids, all dogs, and cats...as well as farm animals. He is a gentle dog who needs a fenced in yard and a family to love him. He was left with Coco/Latte, and Lumos/Patches to starve to death in a basement. All 3 were horribly emaciated but Lucian was unable to even lift his head. He was kept alive by a kind lady named Mo in Middltown by giving him tablespoons of chicken broth and Pedialite. He survived the night and was taken to our vet and has been in their care ever since. He is a very special dog whos will to live inspired thousands of people all over the world thanks to our local non-biased media coverage, Facebook, and the internet! Who We Are

Luv-A-Bulls Rescue is a small rescue group of volunteer foster homes dedicated to rescue and rehabilitation of abused/neglected/unwanted dogs/puppies. (Mostly bully breeds: Bulldog Breeds, Pit Bull Breeds, Mastiff Breeds, and any mixes of those.) Most of our rescues are from chains or pens but we also pull dogs from Ohios worst gassing pounds and heartstick pounds. We also educate owners, and the public, on bully breeds, Breed Specific Legislation, and freeing chained/penned dogs, or at least improving their living conditions. In addition to that, we provide educational material about various other important animal issues such as spay/nueter, wearing fur, circuses, peting zoos, and vegetarian literature. We specialize in dogs but we respect all living creatures and encourage others to do the same by education. **We do not approve of bringing any pit bull breed into the state of Ohio as long as our lawmakers are ignorant of the breed. BSL is statewide and ensuring the safety of our rescues that come from Ohio is our top priority. **We do adopt out of state pending approval and prefer to do so until Ohios laws change! **We do not work with any human aggressive dogs. We will however work with dogs with fear/socialization/food issues when we have openings with the appropriate foster homes who are familiar with rehabilitating dogs with these types of issues. There are so many wonderful loving pit bulls looking for homes! It is unnatural for a pit bull to be human aggressive. A REAL pit bull LOVES everyone!! All dogs NEED exercize and socialization. We work hard locally to educate bully breed owners and speak out against Breed Specific Legislation. It is ignorant to judge a whole breed of dogs because a few have been abused/mistreated/inbred and exploited by the owners/media/and politicians. Irresponsible owners should be held fully accountable for the actions of ANY and ALL breeds.

It is cruel and inhumane to leave a dog alone, hungry, unexercized, and uncared for, chained or penned. These dogs eat, defecate, and sleep in the same small area for YEARS. Laying in the mud, snow, and/or ice ... Chained on a short lead or closed up in a small pen, and many times BOTH, they suffer without love, exercise, interaction, and usually not enough food. They suffer for years....many die that way never knowing a kind touch or voice. MANY have embedded collars. Chaining and/or penning an animal is NOT humane and should not be legal!

Dont just drive by and think it is sad, day after day...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! You can offer to walk their dog or bring it food/a better doghouse..etc... or call us (in Dayton) and we will help!! (Again, if you are outside Dayton please go to DogsDeserve Better.org) They have many wonderful volunteers all over the US willing to help!! ADOPTION PROCEDURE

Email us so we can send you an ADOPTION APPLICATION. After review we will contact you and, if approved, schedule a MEETING, and HOME VISIT. It usually doesn’t take more than a day or two to process the application once it is received. It takes about $175-$250 to fully vet one healthy animal with basic vetting but most times our rescues come in with more problems than simple vetting. ***All dogs must be vetted PRIOR to adoption. We NEVER adopt out any dogs that are not spayed/nuetered, Rabies vaccinatted, 7 way vaccinatted (canine distemper, hepatitis, adenovirus cough, parainfluenza, parvovirus, coronavirus, and leptospirosis), and microchipped. *NO REFUNDS ON ADOPTIONS AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON! Money goes right back into the rescue dogs vet care, Nylabones, & dog food! *All potential adoptions must fill out the application, receive a background check, sign an adoption contract, and agree to home visits. Pet care is a serious lifelong commitment and should be taken seriously! (The only exception to that is if they are under 4 months, too young, and we have a contract that is legally binding that our approved homes sign. We only make these exceptions if we are 100% that the pup will be altered under the care of the new home)! It is irresponsible to do otherwise. We are funded exclusively by donations so unless we have donations in to cover the vetting in full, we can not adopt out that particular dog until it is done. We can, however, accept the adoption donation prior to adoption and hold the dog to finish vetting. We are very flexible with introducing our rescue to potential permanant homes as WE ARE RUN BY FOSTER HOMES ONLY. We try to match up the right dog for the right family/lifestyle so sometimes the dog you want may not be the right one for your home. We want to ensure every dog is happy and every member of the family is happy with the dog. Adopting a rescue dog is a lifelong commitment but we understand that sometimes things may happen. We will always take any adopted dog back for any reason, at any time, during its life here at Love-A-Bulls. This is not the same for all rescues. We want it to work and we want everyone to be happy!
