Who We Are

The Canine Collective is an all volunteer group of dog lovers whose mission it is to provide sanctuary and re-home various breeds of dogs rescued from kill shelters. Our goal is not only to provide a second chance for our furry friends who have 'run out-of-time' at their local shelter but to allow rescuers full involvement and resources to follow their passion. We believe in educating people on the life saving results of adopting, spay and neuter, and the malicious truth behind puppy mills and pet stores.
Foster Homes Urgently Needed!

We are bursting at the seams with dogs that need a temporary place to call home until they are adopted. Shelters are begging us to spare the lives of their nice, friendly, healthy dogs but we can't help them because we don't have enough foster homes.
Fostering is very rewarding, it gives you a chance to make a difference in a dogs life. You can pick your foster dog as we have all ages and sizes to choose from. We provide the vet care, food and crate for the dog, all you need to provide is the love. Please visit our website for a foster application. FOSTER TODAY AND SAVE A LIFE!

Adopting a friend

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist rescue in their spare time. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response to you inquiry.
* Applicants must be 21 years of age and willing to make a 10 -20 commitment to their new family member.
* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog, is a happy well behave dog!
* Applicants living in a rental property must proof of pet policy from landlord.
* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing pets in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots.
* Applicants with no other pets in the home must provide a personal reference.
*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust to them. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.
*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs. The range is $175-$250

Make a Difference

Please spay or neuter your pets to prevent unwanted litters. Millions of dogs die in shelters each year because there aren’t enough good homes for them.
Please don’t buy your pet from a pet store. Pet stores use puppy brokers that buy from auctions and puppy mills. These dogs are breed purely for profit and their care and health are forfeited for the bottom line.
Keep your dog on heartworm preventative and current on vaccinations. Parvo and heartworms are easily prevented illnesses that can kill a dog and are expensive to treat.
Adopt your next pet from a shelter or rescue organization. The love you’ll receive from a dog who knows how bad life can be cannot be matched. The feeling you get knowing you actually saved a life is priceless.
