Elita is a "foster home rescue'all of our dogs first live in a foster home so that we have time to evaluate and train the dogs, our dogs are not kept in kennels .We have trained and certified Humane Investigators that assist Police from our area in cruelty/neglect situations. We also rescue from our local kill pound in Elyria(you can visit the kill pounds website and see the dogs available for adoption, hours of operation and location at http://www.loraincounty.us/website/index.asp?webpageid={ACC7C3DA-99C1-4EE0-B8E9-9AA9E3A1218B} .Once we have the dog (s) we evaluate the dog. Then knowing the personality and any medical conditions the dog may have, we address medical conditions, shots, worming, flea control and heartworm testing on dogs over 6 months. The last part is training, we have our dogs trained in basic house manners such as housebreaking, leash training, and destructive behavior (chewing..ect). If there are any issues with food or dog aggression these matters are addressed. If we would not feel comfortable with having one of our dogs in our homes with our children, then we will certainly not put them in your homes. While we understand that there is no guarantee in dog behavior, we feel that getting to know each dog, and having our foster families work with them on a daily basis we are adopting out safe, enjoyable, family pets.E-mail me and request an application for the dog you are interested in.
Please be ready for an adjustment period of a least one month, you and your new pet must get used to each other, there may be accidents untill your new pet gets used to your routine,be prepared.
