Abandoned Companions Rescue Adoption Program
Our Featured Pet...

JON
Hi, my name is Jon. Receiving affection and having a great forever home are my goals in life. I am about three years old. When I was rescued, I just weighted over five pounds and had numerous infected wounds. Now I am big and strong, but I have a touch of asthma and need an occasional shot. I am good all of the time except I do not care for doggies. I would be okay with a female, easygoing cat. Will you at least give me a chance? I tested negative for feline leukemia. I am great companion because I am so loveable, playful and affectionate.
News
Abandoned Companions is a new dog and cat rescue located in Southern, Ohio near Portsmouth. Our animals are rescued regardless of their breed. We also transport for BREW Beagles.
Who We Are
We are a tiny, in-home rescue that is run by a wife and husband. Abandoned Companions would like to expand some day with the help of volunteers willing to provide loving foster homes. Currently, we cannot accept any new pets until others are adopted. We will not take in any more animals than we can love and care for properly. Our location is in Scioto County, Ohio, which is located two hours, directly south of Columbus. Our program is a no-kill rescue.
What We Need
We need much help including supplies and monetary donations. Frontline Plus, Revolution, Fresh-Step cat litter, Purina Dog and Cat Chow, blankets, towels, shampoo, beds are a few things needed. However, most of all we need donations for the aforementioned needs, food and vet bills. As well, we are seeking an attorney to file for our federal non-profit status.
Of course, we need foster homes. Abandoned Companions will provide the medical care for the foster pets and the foster home will be responsible for food and love. Foster Homes must be within close proximity to the rescue and complete a thorough screening process similar to our adoption process. This will include a home visit, vet reference and much more.
In addition, Sponsorship is needed. If you find a particular pet that attracts you, sponsor this companion. You can make a one-time sponsorship donation or choose a monthly sponsorship donation for your selected companion. Your name will be included as a sponsor on the pet’s adoption page.
