Who We Are

We are a private NON-PROFIT organization willing to help any animal. I work out of my home with 2 beautiful acres fenced for the dogs to run and play. We don't discriminate any breed. We are a NO-kill animal rescue-meaning they stay here until adopted, we DO NOT euthanize for space. We do NOT get any government funding and run completly on donations and my full time job. Help save lives!! When you adopt/foster you don't only save one dog but you open a cage space for another dog.

More about the Owner

Hello my name is Megan Ciganik and I am a very big animal lover and have dedicated my life to giving unwanted pets a second chance. I am 25 years old and love every minute. Well not EVERY minute sometimes you get there to late and can just say goodbye. You never know what a dog could have coming out of a pound. I run the rescue from my home and also work a normal full time job. Lots of hard work!!! Growing up I always took in strays and volunteered at the local animal shelter. I am a certified vet assistant and certified in pet first aid.

Some think I'm crazy for what I do but I wouldn't change it for the world. I do what I can with what I have. All my hard earned money goes towards the animals. They are getting a brand new barn built for them which took my life savings. I am always in need of volunteers and foster homes. We fall short of donations every year. Lucky to get any... Animals touch our hearts in a very special way. There is no way to descibe the love for an animal. They don't judge and will always be by your side. Not every person feels this way and sometimes I wish I didn't have to see or deal with the things I have. Strays left along the road, pit bulls used for fighting, abandoned animals left to die, injured animals, animal hoarders, puppies dieing of Parvo. A puppy 7weeks old died in my arms within minutes of getting to my rescue because of parvo. How does a person cope with that you may wonder. I take a look at all the other dogs that are lucky to be alive because I found room and got to them in time. One person can't save them all unfortunatly and somdays I do feel overwhelmed but in the long run it is well worth the battle. Opt to Adopt! Dont Breed OR Buy while Homless Pets DIE!

Adopting

There are 45 cats and dogs for every person born. Only 1 out of 10 dogs born ever get a home. Only 1 of 12 cats born ever find a home. OVER 800 dogs and cats are KILLED each hour in the US, because there are not enough homes for them.
Opt to adopt, DON"T buy from a pet store! Puppies from petstores are from puppymills.

Adoption fee is based on the medical care needed for that dog/cat. All spayed/neutered, UTD with shots, Rabies, Dewormed, heartworm tested, flea preventative & most are Micro chipped.

Send me an email for the pre-adoption application OR COPY the questions below and email the application to me. At ANY point in the adopted pets life things didn't work out they are ALWAYS welcome back.

DO I GO HOME TODAY?
Pet adoption and rescue powered by	My family brought me home one day Cradled in their arms. They cuddled me and smiled at me, And said I was full charm. They played with me and laughed with me They showered me with toys. I sure do love my family Especially the girls and boys. The children loved to feed me, They gave me special treats, They even let me sleep with them All snuggled in the sheets. I used to go for walks, Often several times a day. They even fought to hold my leash, I’m very proud to say. These are things I will never forget A cherished memory. I now live in a shelter Without my family. They used to laugh and praise me When I played with that old shoe. But I didn’t know the difference Between the old ones and the new. The kids and I would grab a rag, For hours we would tug. So I thought I did the right thing When I chewed the bathroom rug.	They said that I was out of control And would have to live outside. This I did not understand Although I tried and tried. The walks stopped one by one, They said they hadn’t time. I wish that I could change things. I wish I knew my crime. My life became so lonely In the backyard, on a chain. I barked and barked all day long To keep from going insane. So they brought me to a shelter But were embarrassed to say why They said I caused an allergy And then kissed me goodbye. If I’d only had some classes As a little pup. I wouldn’t have been so hard to handle When I was all grown up. “You only have one day left” I heard the worker say Does this mean a second chance?
