Rescue Alliance is looking for foster homes in Ohio and Pennsylvania, Michigan too. If you would like to open your heart and home for a temporary fuzzy friend, email savingdoggies@yahoo.com for more information.

Who We Are

The Rescue Alliance of Hairless and Other Breeds, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit nationwide coalition of independent rescue agencies who have come together to help each other help our animal companions. Due to their special needs, we specialize in hairless breeds, but will never turn anyone away as long as we have room in our homes for anyone whether furred, scaled, or feathered!

What We Do

Our rescues are sheltered in private foster homes and treated as part of the family. There they receive love, good nutrition, veterinary care, socialization, and lots of attention. Many come from puppy mills, kill shelters, deplorable conditions, and abusive situations with a lot of emotional baggage. Their emotional issues are addressed and many of our rescues undergo rehabilitation while living in the foster home. Some have never been housebroken, and that is another goal of foster care. Some have special needs that require ongoing medical treatment. Some are older, hearing or sight impaired. It is our quest to help these animals through education, fostering, rehabilitation, and placement of those animals into loving, permanent homes.

In an effort to help to control the unwanted animal population, we strongly support spaying and neutering.

Our Basic Premise

Our priorities are threefold. Our top priority is to support each other in the work we do. Our second priority is to help people with their animal companions through education. And our third, and most important priority is to help animals currently in limbo find their human partners. We love and honor every living creature and strive to find the perfect homes for our foster "children."

Adopting a friend

Our adoption procedure varies somewhat from foster home to foster home because we feel the foster family knows the animal best. All of our foster homes require that you submit an application. Adoption fees vary depending upon the animal. We then screen the applicants and conduct a home visit. Once an applicant has been approved for adoption, the adopter must pay the adoption fee, and make arrangements to pick up the animal. Generally, we do not ship animals. It is the responsibility of the adopter to transport the animal, but most foster homes will work with adopters to get the right animals to the right homes.

Come Visit Us!

We invite you to visit our website at www.RescueAlliance.org where you can see who is currently available for adoption in addition to your Petfinder search. We do not have one central location, as our foster homes are located throughout the United States. Please contact the FOSTER HOME in the listing, rather than our home office in New Port Richey, FL, for information about any of our fosters. Our New Port Richey office is not a foster home.

We are also always looking for volunteers to foster and transport. So please contact us for more information about our volunteer opportunities!
