FEATURED PET This is sweet Ginny. Ginny was rescued from West Virginia with her two adult sons, watch for them soon on petfinder) She is in foster now trying to win back her 'girlish figure' (as she is close to 7 pounds overweight and has a 19 inch waist most women would envy, but on a small dog, not too flattering!) ::::UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM, 1-28-08::::She is a quiet one, Ginny is. (We've been calling her Ginger, as she just 'looks like a Ginger, doesn't she?) I've heard her bark twice and that was after being 'egged' on my the three loudmouths here. But a sweeter dog you will never find. She will run to the back door now to go outside and 'piddles' on command, pretty much, for a piece of her food. (what we use as treats for her). Also crate trained and will go in there gladly if I have to leave for a bit and she sleeps in there at night at this time. She is fine with the other dogs here and is keeping the punk cat in her place when 'said cat' tries to get in her face, but otherwise will ignore that troblemaking feline. ::::UPDATE FROM FOSTER MOM 2-5-08::::Ginger is doing great! Very loving and gentle dog. She wants nothing more than to sit with her favorite person and nap. But also really enjoys a good walk as well. For a dog that had never seen a leash in her life (we believe) she has taken to it like a pro! She's patiently waiting for her fur-ever home, so please contact us soon. She's waiting for someone to be her speical person... will it be you?

Who We Are

Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary, Inc. is dedicated to all the animals abused, starving and neglected. May God touch lightly the soul of an animal we did not rescue in time. The ones that may never have known a kind word or a warm bed and loving human. We are a small rescue operating out of our home. We hope you enjoy the photos and stories of our animals. Most of the animals will remain with us for the rest of their lives due to age or illness. From time to time we have wonderful adoptable pets that are in need of safe and loving homes. The sanctuary is located in Erie County, Ohio. We have 30 acres of quiet and peaceful natural beauty. The work we do here is for the love of the animals. That is why we take the sickest of the sick and the oldest of the old and give them a home for the time they have left on this earth. The animals we take in are the ones no one else would have because of age or illness. We take them into our home and we take them into our hearts. No matter what abuse or neglect they came from, they will know the touch of a human hand is not always rough. They will know what it feels like to be loved.
