Our Featured Event!
Elsie, Goose, Wilson and Tommy Lee we're the only four of thirteen that survived a bout with Parvo. Treatment for Parvo is VERY expensive, but our little puppies are worth every penny. Goose, Elsie and Tommy Lee have gone to their forever homes. We are also in need of funds to have a golfball sized lump off of Saber's hip so that he can be adopted. We want to continue helping any and all dogs, and are currently in need of help! Any amount contributed is just another step toward helping more animals in need! Who We Are
Deacon's Hope was founded on Oct. 29, 2005 by Donna Smith and Family. It was inspired by their German Shepherd Deacon. Deacon was a part of their family for almost 17 years! Deacon's Hope is in dedication to him. In honor of him, Deacon's Hope will save as many lives as possible, vet them and place in the best possible homes! We cannot, and will not, turn our backs on any breed in need!
DHR is an all volunteer program. We DO NOT have a shelter. All DHR animals are fostered in homes with one of our volunteer foster families.Please look at all of our fosters. Some of them have been in rescue way too long and would really love to have a family of their own.
We have a 100% spay/neuter policy.
Mission Statement
We receive no funds from the state and we pay for all of our vetting and other supplies out of our pockets with help from our adoption fees. Deacon's Hope is dedicated to saving German Shepherd Dogs and any breed of dogs from kill shelters and finding the best possible placement for them. All animals will be spayed/neutered and updated on shots prior to adoption. Deacon's Hope is No Kill and adoptable animals will remain in foster care until they are adopted or indefinitely. Only animals with a terminal illness from which they will suffer, or non-placeable due to aggression will be humanely euthanized. We believe education about spaying and neutering and proper vetting is key to the prevention of unwanted pets.
Here at Deacon's Hope we are dedicated to saving the lives of "death row" dogs, and dogs with special needs. We believe all souls capable of loving are worth saving!
Adopting a friend.
An application must be submitted before meeting any DHR animal. You can have one sent to you by emailing the foster parent that is listed on your chosen friends bio!
We also require a home visit!
Our adoption fee is $175.00 for dogs. $200 for puppies.
An adoption contract will be signed at the time of adoption!

Would You like to be a Foster?
There are way too many animals in shelters that are euthanized every hour, every day, every month, every year. Deacons Hope is in need of loving people who are willing to give a temporary home to a dog, or puppy in need! Being a foster parent is extremely rewarding and very gratifying! Even if you can only foster one foster at a time, that's another life we were able to save!
