Almost Home Ohio
Almost Home is a small, home-based placement assistance program that operates solely out of pocket. I do my best to help all that I possibly can. Space and funds are limited, so please email to check availability if you are aware of an animal in need.

We specialize in the rescue and wellbeing of parrots. Almost Home has experience in birds of all types, sizes, personalities, and issues. We have a terrific avian vet, and a large network of bird-savvy people. All of our birds are provided with excellent vet care, proper diet and nutrition, and plenty of in-cage stimulation as well as out of the cage time. We strive to give our birds, permanent and fosters alike, a safe home environment and work very hard to make their stay here not only pleasant, but beneficial to the bird itself, learning to trust humans, and becoming a good companion bird.
We also take in urgent needs cats/kittens. Orphaned kittens will be bottlefed until a nursing fostermother can be found. Round the clock feedings are stressful for everyone involved, and it's not something everyone is willing to do. Pregnant stray cats are also given an opportunity to have their kittens in the comfort of a warm home, with plenty of food, water, and care.
Foster homes (or permanent) are often needed for a wide variety of other animal types. We also provide haven for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, ferrets, and reptiles.
