$42.00 for all adult dogs over 6 mos of age (many already vetted completely)
$52.00 for all puppies under 6 mos of age
Any dog/puppy can be carrying diseases such as parvo, corona, kennel cough or distemper without it being obvious at the time of adoption, they may also be carrying various easily treatable internal parasites that a veterinarian can diagnose on your first visit. All dogs/puppies need to be seen by a vet within 48 hrs. We do not give refunds regardless of illness or death after adoption. Many of the dogs/puppies coming from shelters have been abused/neglected by humans, please allow them time to adjust once you take them into your home.
How You Can Help:
There are many ways you can help You can foster, sponsor or donate and especially adopt and SPAY/NEUTER your pet!, By opening your home temporarily to a homeless dog, you will most definitely save the life of another. By sponsoring a dog for their vetting (spay/neuter/vaccines), you will give that individual dog a boost by making them more adoptable and more likely to get out of the pound. By donating anything from clorox and detergent to vaccines and money, you enable us to keep our dogs healthier and once again help them find a new home. By adopting, of course, you save a pup and give them the second chance they deserve and last but not least, by spaying/neutering your pet you save many wonderful dogs by not flooding the community with more puppies while there are so many wonderful dogs & puppies already waiting for their forever homes!
NEWS....PLEASE READ!:
The Rascal Unit, A low cost mobile spay/neuter clinic is coming to our area monthly. It's the perfect opportunity for you to help the pet crisis situation in our county for less money than you would spend on 3-4 bags of dog food for the puppies born to your dogs! Please spay your girls, the health benefits are great and you never have to worry about putting her up or strays coming to your home and fighting in your yard again! And YES the males contribute too! Females cannot have puppies without them! I hear so many times "I only have males, no puppies for me!" That is not the solution, your guy will father a litter (or multiple litters) somewhere, even if it isn't at your home. So please neuter your male dogs, not only is it a wonderful health benefit for him, it is an awesome contribution to our county.... somebodys dog is the daddy to the many litters of puppies we see each month.
We have clinic dates scheduled for every month for the 2010. Please contact the Humane Society of Adams County, 937-587-2727 to request an appointment or information on the next clinic date. Book early, the clinics fill really fast!
