Our
Featured Pet...MEET SASHA! My name is Sasha and I got taken to the Richland County Pound after being hit by a car, they sent out pleas for a rescue to take me and Lake Erie German Shepherd Rescue along working with St. Francis Animal Sanctuary took me in and got me to the Avon Lake Animal Clinic, here is what happened when I was hit by the car after they took X- RAYS:
We are working with Lake Erie German Shepherd Rescue in Huron OH to save this babies life. She was picked up as a stray in Richland County OH. One of the pound workers told me she was to be "put to sleep" because of the injuries upon her entering the pound. She looked as if she was hit by a car because of the abrasions and lacerations on her rear leg and inability to stand or walk. The pound attendent thought she was just too young to die and put her on Petfinder. Here she may have a chance to be rescued. Sasha has a severe fracture to the right leg bone and several fractures in the pelvic area.
Sasha the 12 week old pup will need kennel rest for the next 6 weeks. She then must undergo another surgery to remove the pins from the fracture site. The doctors feel she has a very good chance of recovery.
The estimated cost for both surgeries now and in 6 weeks is $2,300.00. We are a 501(c)3 non profit group and donations are tax deductible. Please consider a donation for this young pup. She remains at the vet tonight. Her surgery was done July 3.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION ON BEHALF OF SASHA, YOU CAN DO IT PAYPAL ON ST. FRANCIS'S WEBSITE WHICH IS

YOU WILL HAVE TO COPY AND PASTE THIS INTO YOUR BROWSER. ON BEHALF OF SASHA, ANYTHING YOU CAN SEND TO HELP WITH THE COST OF SURGERY AND SAVING THIS BABY'S LIFE WILL BE TRULY APPRECIATED MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW. PLEASE KEEP SASHA IN YOUR PRAYERS AND GOD BLESS

Our News
Who We Are
Lake Erie German Shepherd Rescue is a homebased operation. I have no formal shelter and all pets are fostered in my home. Some are shelter rescues, owner surrenders or animals currently living with their owners that require a new home. We are a not for profit organization. We are dedicated to the rehoming of neglected, abused and homeless pets whom have lost their homes through no fault of their own. We make every attempt to place a pet with the ideal home. Pets are evaluated and receive full vet care before being adopted. We are striving for the education of people about the plight of domestic pets and hoping that one day people will see that having their pets spayed or neutered is essential to preventing the overpopulation crisis out there.

We are located in Northern Ohio right by Lake Erie and presently do not have a shelter. Animals are fostered in my home so I do not have a facility that can be visited. However, I am more than happy to arrange a meeting where you can meet the animal you are interested in prior to adoption.
