In Memory of Sherry...
Early on December 13 we lost our good friend and fellow animal lover, Sherry Seymour, to an icy patch of road in southern Ohio. Sherry loved all animals, but especially gave her heart, time, and resources to the abandoned cats and kittens of Hocking County. Sherry leaves behind over 20 cats and kittens who will need permanent homes. We are working now to get their pictures and descriptions on this site, and will be happy to talk to anyone who wants to provide a safe, loving home to one of her cats. To contact us about adoption, please call 740-380- 3002, or send us an email through this site (click on "Sherry's Cats" in our pet list.) Sherry's family has asked that donations be made to The Pet Orphanage in lieu of flowers. We want you to know that all funds collected in her name will be used directly for spay/neuter operations and other types of medical assistance.
Spay/Neuter Clinics

To help this problem, we sponsor mobile spay and neuter clinics for cats (see below for our voucher program for dog spay/neuter). This year we are sponsoring 13 clinics. Dog Spay/Neuter Assistance
The Pet Orphanage has been awarded a renewal of a grant to help reduce the number of homeless dogs in Hocking County through a spay/neuter program. Grant funds are now available to provide financial assistance to dog owners who cannot afford to have their pets “fixed.” Dogs of any size are eligible, although program emphasis is on large dogs.
To participate, each dog must have a current dog license. It is helpful to know the dog’s weight before calling the Pet Orphanage since weight determines the cost of surgery. Owners will be asked how much they can contribute toward surgery, and grant funds will pay the balance. Even a small contribution helps stretch grant funds to assist more owners. Vouchers will be issued to owners for use at local veterinary clinics which are familiar with this outreach program.
For more information about dog spay/neuter assistance, contact Grant Manager Mary Marsh at 740-332-9202.
Who We Are
The Pet Orphanage, located in Logan, Hocking County, Ohio is a non-profit, no-kill organization. We promote controlling the pet population by sponsoring cat spay and neuter clinics and through education. Homeless animals are brought in, cared for, and given any medical care needed, until they can be adopted. The Pet Orphanage has established an outreach fund which helps assists injured animals in emergency situations.
The Pet Orphanage is dedicated to giving the best care and attention to all the dogs and cats we take in. Unfortunately, we no longer have a shelter for our animals and our volunteers are currently fostering every animal we have. The animals are getting the best care we can provide, but they would really like to find a permanent home.
