We need help! We have pulled a litter of 6 lab pups from a shelter and they have come down with parvo! We lost one the first day but the other 5 are holding their own. The problem is the bill is already OVER $5,000. We are going to need donations if we have any hope of paying this bill and saving these babies. We call them "The Conroe Kids" as they came from Conroe. Their pics are attached. You can go to our donations link and donate through paypal or send a check to GDLRR 375 Baker st Brookville Ohio. All donations are tax deductable. Thank you in advance for helping us help them!

Foster Homes Desperately Needed!!

Foster homes provide second chances to homeless labs. Fostering means welcoming either an adult lab, or a lab puppy, into your home for an indeterminate period of time. They will be a loved and cared for member of your family until a carefully screened permanent home is found. We will provide you with any supplies needed for the lab while in your care (i.e. crate, toys, food, treats). Shelters are inundated with dogs, including purebred labs, many whose owners are facing financial hardship and can no longer hold onto their homes let alone their canine companions. When we pull and save a lab from a shelter, we are opening up a space in that shelter to another homeless dog in need. The more foster volunteers we have, the more dogs we can save from the shelters. Put simply - fostering saves lives. Please contact us at labanddaneresqr@gmail.com if you are located in Ohio and would like to foster for us and give a lab a chance for a new beginning.

Who We Are

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in 2005. Our mission is to rescue and re-home purebred Labrador Retrievers, and Labrador mixes that have the look and temperament of a Lab, into loving and caring homes. Our goal is to help high kill shelters place a dog that has reached "the time limit", take in the neglected and unwanted Labbies, and those that have been injured and need medical attention. Our rescue takes in many unwanted Labbies every month who have been abandoned, starved to emaciation, tortured, neglected, heartworm positive, orthopedic strays, owner give ups, and from shelters where these gentle giants have been sitting wondering what has happened to their lives. We take these Labbies in and give them the care and love that they deserve. Our care includes but not limited to routine examination, spay/neuter (over 8 weeks), vaccinations, including 1 year rabies on Labs over 6 months of age, wormed, micro-chipped, heartworm tested and put on heartworm preventative if negative, or heartworm treated if positive, and put on preventative treatment for fleas. We strive to rehabilitate! All dogs adopted through Greater Dayton Labrador Retriever Rescue are living with a volunteer foster caregiver. We can tell you how the Labbie interacts with other dogs, cats, children, and if the dog would be best for your household. We want to create a win-win situation for the dog and you. A good temperament is most important to us. Make your next pet a rescue Labbie! Their lives depend on it!
