Ladybug's K9 Rescue

Our Pet List

 Who Are We?

We are a family ( and sometimes friends) who just love dogs! We believe that all dogs deserve a FAMILY, not a cage. Our primary focus  is the puppy mill problem. We believe that the best way to make a difference lies in educating the people who run the mills about the importance of preventative care, vaccines, socialization and excersise for the dogs living in cages. We give them literature to help in identifying disease, and the proper treatment, encouraging them to use a vetrinarian, and offering free rides to get them to the vet. We are fighting for freedom for the adult mommies who are older than 4 years old and have been forced to have 2 litters of puppies each year, Our goal is to try and make the lives of these prisoners of greed a little bit better until the laws change to protect them We hope to create awareness in our community about the puppy mills, and the importance of taking action by spreading the word, taking in a foster, or just donating their time or money to help.
The dogs and puppies we get out of the puppy mills are not free. We often must pay for their freedom. We focus on the puppies that are going to be destroyed, or are  going to get sent to an auction to be sold as breeding stock, or are injured and/or ill. We house a few at a time, and begin the process of getting them healthy (using Maple Run Vet Clinic), and teaching them how to live outside of the cage.
The puppies, and adult dogs are given " hug therapy" to learn that not all people will hurt them. They are conditioned to hear a television, a vacuum cleaner, kids laughing- sounds that they will hear in their new home, so the transition will be a little easier for them, and the adoptive "parents". We work with a trainer when we can, and try to build their confidence, while teaching them basic house manners. Many of these dogs will never recover emotionally from the trauma that was their life. Some do, and become wonderful pets..
If you are considering adopting an adult dog, or puppy from a puppy mill, please be aware of the financial and emotional risks involved, and make sure you are ready for a life time commitment.

We also  offer to help people in our own communtiy wiith the cost of getting their pet spayed or neutered if they can not afford to do it themselves.  We also take in owner surrenders on occasion. We make every effort to keep the dog in their own home, offering training services, education, advise, or posting the dog on our site until a home can be found.
