Our Featured Pet...

Hi, I'm Paco. I'm a cute little guy (if I do say so myself). I showed up at the shelter one day, hoping to find a new home. I sure do like lap-sitting and will give you lots of kisses. I love car rides, too. I have graduated from obedience and agility training.

INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

Would you like to volunteer a few hours a month to help us? We are looking for a few good people who would be willing to help at some of our activities, maybe even with transportation. Just give us a call or email.

LIKE SHOPPING!!!!!

We would like to formally announce our partnership with www.GiveBackAmerica.org. We now have our own personal shopping mall. We have partnered with GiveBackAmerica.org to help our organization raise additional funds, all at no extra cost to you the consumer! Every time you shop online through GiveBackAmerica, a percentage of each purchase goes to us.

Who We Are

We are a NO KILL shelter, whose objectives are to prevent animal cruelty, promote spaying and neutering, rescue sick, abused and injured cats, dogs and puppies.

All of our dogs are spayed and neutered with all of their shots. 90% of our dogs go through a basic agility and obedience training program.

Cats are spayed and neutered, have all shots, and are leukemia negative.

We do not adopt our animals outside a 50 mile radius of Lorain County, Ohio and we do not return long distance calls outside of this radius.

Adopting a friend

Ask yourself, "Are you ready to accept the physical, financial and emotional responsibility for one?" If so......... First step: Contact us either by phone or email and obtain an adoption questionnaire. The information that you provide on the questionaire will help our Adoption Committee find the best possible match between the animal and your family. Call 440-233-6771 or send an email message to SPCA@Windstream.Net.

Second step: Vet check - you provide your veterinarians name and phone number. Plus you will need to contact them, giving them permission to release your information.

Third step: Arrange to come to our shelter to 'meet and greet' the friend you are interested in. Bring your family and even your dog. This allows everyone to get to know each other.

If the adoption is approved by our Adoption Commmittee, and of course the rescue friend, adoption papers are filled out, fees paid, and a new friend has joined your family. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, shots, worming, and rabies.

You can be sure that the needs of our animals come first!
