Who We Are

Heavenly Boxer Rescue is located in Ashland, Ohio. Heavenly Boxer Rescue is a small group of volunteers who care deeply about the welfare of all animals, but Boxers stay closest to our hearts. We rescue these deserving Boxers from pounds and shelters when they are in need of getting new homes and avoiding euthanization. We also accept owner surrenders when space allows. We at Heavenly Boxer bring all animals current on vetting before they leave for thier new home. We do all that we can for the animal's welfare and it does become a very big job. All members of the rescue spend a lot of time online, on the road and on the phone. We are here for the animals first and want nothing more than to see them go from a shelter situation into a loving forever home where they can live out their lives healthy and happy. Shelter dogs do take priority over owner surrenders but we do all we can for all the animals in need. We screen all individuals interested in our adoptable animals through an application process to be sure that they are the right family for the animal, and vise versa. Owners who wish to surrender thier animal to HPR must be willing to fill out and sign an owner surrender form.

Adopting a friend

When interested in adopting from our rescue please fill out our online application here. Our adoption fees do vary as do our dogs. We will post the adoption fee with the adoptable pet's bio. At this time adoption fees will range from $150.00 to $350.00 depending on the dog's vetting needs. We strive to make sure our rescue buddies go to the best home possible and that the new family is truly ready for the long term care that goes with a pet. Please know that we want all our rescued pets to live with their new families indoors. We do not adopt out dogs that will be used as guard dogs, breeding, solely for protections purposes or will be living outside year round.

Donations

We are a fairly new rescue and supplies are always greatly appreciated. We are in need of the following:
Digital Camera
Leashes, collars and harnesses of all sizes
Dog Treats
Dog toys Dog crates of all sizes
Crate pads
Doggie beds
Dog Food for all ages (We feed Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul but will accept all brands)
Puppy Pads
Brushes, undercoat rakes, shedding tools
Printer Paper
Calling Cards and
Monetary Donations are also greatly appreciated but not tax deductible at this time. You can send a donation by sending a personal check to HBR.

Come Visit Us!

Heavenly Boxer Rescue does not have a single shelter location. All animals are placed in foster homes where they are evaluated and become adjusted to their new foster family. We then can determine the type of home they will thrive in. After your application is approved we will set up a time for us to come to your home for a home inspection or for you to come and meet the special pet you have applied for. We do not ship any of our pets but will adopt out of state as long as the new parents come to the foster home and meet the new pet first. Please be aware that we do ask that you allow us to do a home visit.
