Pocket Pets and More
Was the Temporary Home of the UNWANTED, the STRAYS, and the plain MISFITS. It has now become the permanent home to several. VERY FEW people really know the time and cost involved with taking care of a large number of animals. The stats for the cost of bring a single new puppy into your home is $5,000 the first year, and then about $1,000 per year of it's life.
Shelter Notes...
GENERAL INFORMATION: I receive no financial assistance, do not have regular volunteers or use foster homes to help take care of all the animals. My adoption fees ARE higher than your local APL or ASPCA and other groups that get donations/contributions, have voluneeters, help with multiple fund raisers, animal care, and foster care. However my adoption fees are not that much different than the specialized rescue group and my adoption requirements are not a strict as these groups. The available CATS will again be listed at a later date. The Cats will still be $20, they are fixed and will be back up to date with shots.
ADOPTING A FRIEND at Pocket Pets
An Adoption Application must be filled out to be considered for adopting a pet. I am sorry but due to the high cost of insurance and danger of exposure to diseases like Parvo, I do not allow people into my home.
Who I was/am
I started rescueing strays and unwanted pets full-time back in 1997. But since my back injury in Feburary 2007, I am no longer able to continue as before. I still rescue animals, HOWEVER I am not allowing the number and the several different types of animals I once handled get back up to the amount they were before my injury, which had been close to 200 animals at one time.
