Shelter Notes...
GENERAL INFORMATION: I receive no financial assistance, do not have volunteers or use foster homes to help take care of all the animals. VERY FEW people really know the cost involved with taking care animals. The stats for bring a single new puppy into your home is $5,000 the first year, and then about $1,000 per year of it's life. Now think of what shelter have to spend yearly! Please think before getting a pet. It is a life long commentment to the animal.
ADOPTING A FRIEND at Pocket Pets
An Adoption Application must be filled out to be considered for adopting a pet. I am sorry but due to the high cost of insurance and danger of exposure to diseases like Parvo, I no longer allow people into my home. There are 6 adult or senior cats (1 longhair male, the rest shorthair females) that would love a home of their own. They are fixed and adoption fee is $20. Email if you are interested and I can send you more information and photos. Meri our new arrival adoption fee will be $60 and the kittens will be $80.
Who I was/am
I started rescueing strays and unwanted pets part-time back in 1991 and full-time in 1997. But since my back injury in Feburary 2007, I am no longer able to continue full-time as before. I still rescue animals, but at a much smaller scale and mainly pocket pets.
