Gretchen
Our featured pet is Gretchen. A big couch potatoe and loves cushy things. Very energetic and loves people and kids. Not recomended for smaller children due to her high energy and jumping. Beautiful and sleek, soft to the touch. Would make a wonderful addition to any family. Thinks she is a lap dog and could be if you let her. Should have fenced in yard to exercise her energy out. Likes to be with the family. Spayed and up to date on shots. For more information on this dog you can call Diane at 330-833-9461 or Joan at 330-499-7666.

Training tip for the week: PROTECTION: The difference between protection and possesion in many cases is often mistaken. When you are holding a dog on your lap and another dog or a person comes over to you and the dog growls; Is this protection or possesion? Is there a real threat by whatever came over to you? Chances are NO. This is possesion. When dogs are allowed on the bed, couches, or chairs, they consider themselves equal with you, which means that they don't want to be told what to do by you. In other words you are the possesion they are possesing. They are owning you. Dogs will often challenge little children or other dogs for attention and affection. Best advise, keep the dog on the floor. Dogs have a pack order, and when they live with you, you are their pack. Don't let them think they are the leader. Adults, children, then the dog.
Doggy Do Right is just getting started. As a professional trainer, I will be giving training tips on our website to help pet-owners deal with their pets and hopefully reduce the number of pets that are given up.
Who We Are
As a trainer and a rescuer, I believe every dog should have a chance. Not every dog belongs in every home. Our goal is to make sure the right dog goes to the right home. Our dogs are a product of owner irresponsibility by not spaying and neutering. Now they have to pay the price by being in rescue. We try to make their stay here loving and comfortable until their forever home comes along. Our dogs are healthy both physically and mentally when they leave here. Some of our dogs may have special needs that require a certain kind of person to be their owners. We will make sure those dogs get those kind of owners.
Adopting a friend
We do not have an adoption application. We do our own screening and dogs are shown by appointment only. You can e-mail us on a particular dog you are interested in at Dogtrainer0922@wmconnect.com and we will get back to you. We do have an adoption contract that will be discussed fully before adopting a pet.
Come Visit Us!
We do not have a public shelter. Dogs are shown by appointment only. We are located in the Massillon area.
