HOW YOU CAN HELP

The RASCAL mobile spay/neuter unit will be in Pike County on July 1.
Contact the Pound at 947- 5996 for details!

SPAY or NEUTER your pets. Every year HUNDREDS of unwanted puppies come into the Pound because dogs were not spayed or neutered. This is the NUMBER ONE way you can help! Spayed or neutered dogs stay healthier, have better temperments and tend not to wander away.

LICENSING your dog helps us find YOU if your dog is lost or stolen. Licenses may be purchased at the Pike County Dog Pound or the Pike County Auditor's Office.

PLEASE ADOPT OR RESCUE from Pike Pound. We have many, many puppies and dogs coming in everyday. We are a small, rural pound with very limited space. All of these wonderful dogs and puppies are in need of new homes or rescues as soon as possible. We try our best to hold dogs for as long as possible and make every attempt to place dogs and puppies into loving homes or rescues. We are very adopter and rescue friendly. WE NEED YOU TO ADOPT OR RESCUE! Please contact the Pound (leave a message) at 740-947-5996 as soon as possible if you see a dog or puppy that you are interested in adopting or rescuing.

VOLUNTEERS are always welcome and needed to assist with Rescue Transport, to help market adoptable dogs, to take pictures of dogs and post on this site, to brush and walk dogs,to play with puppies, to help with fundraisers and grants, etc. Also appreciated are supplies, such as towels, shampoos, and rinses to use when bathing our dogs in our donated booster bath and flea medication (Capstar) for the dogs and puppies. Collars and leashes are always in great demand as we like to send all of our dogs to new homes or Rescue with a collar.
