I am the perfect mate, I love cheese puffs, watching t.v., mostly sports, snuggling in your hair, and I admire a good peice of jewelry, what more could you want? This little guy has quite the personality, he is very trusting. He was rescued off the campus of a local university. He loves to play and prefers to be around other cats. He is currently living at a foster home, and has never been in a shelter, we have tested Chumk for FeLV and FIV and he is negative, he has been wormed, and has been given his first baby vaccination and micro chipped, he is litter box trained, and been indoor since his rescue, he is a favorite at the foster home. BUILDING NEWS
While we do not have a shelter at this time, all our pets are either in foster homes or the Manci Cell Dog Program.
Progress is being made on the building. The Ashland City Fire Department donated their time and practiced burned the building that was sitting on the lot.
This saved us money on demolishing the building.
We paided Bartley and Bolin to clear the lot and fill in the basement on our site. This cost us approximately $3000, we do have to thank Bartley and Bolin, especially Dale Bartley and Mitch Bolin for they donated about all the fill that went into the basement. Thanks Guys!!
Now we need YOUR help, the sooner we can raise funds to build the sooner we have a location for our counties homeless animals. The humane society is operated only on the donations and kindness of you people in the community. We receive NO tax dollars for operation!!! You can donate one of 3 ways; click the Paypal button and make a donation, send a check to any Ashland National City Bank (donations sent directly to the bank are deposited directly in to our account and we never see them, and have no way of knowing who make the donation to thank them) or send a donation to P.O. 114 Ashland, Ohio 44805.

Who We Are
The Ashland County Humane Society is a non-profit, tax exempt, volunteer based organization, with NO facility, dedicated to the welfare of animals in the Ashland County area.
Although independent of the Ashland County Animal Shelter, the society works in cooperation with that agency, as well as the local veterinary community.
The society funds itself through its own fund-raising efforts, animal surrender and adoption fees, and the generosity of the local community. All members of the Board of Directors and committees are unpaid volunteers.
Our Cat Program
The Ashland County Humane Society takes in homeless cats and kittens, caring for them until they can be adopted into loving homes. We do not yet have a shelter, so all of our cats are housed in volunteer foster homes while awaiting adoption.
All of our cats are feline leukemia tested & FIV tested, wormed, micro chipped, receive vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to being placed up for adoption. We charge an adoption fee of $75 for each cat or kitten to offset veterinary costs.
If you would like to adopt one of our cats or kittens, or if you would like to volunteer as a foster home, please leave a message on our answering service at 419-281-4722.
ManCI Cell Dog Program
The Ashland County Humane Society also works with the Mansfield Correctional Institute to help homeless dogs in need. Dogs enrolled in the program are housed at the prison, and are cared for by specially selected inmates, who also train the dogs.
A professional dog trainer works with the inmates, teaching them how to train the dogs, who learn basic obedience and are housebroken, making them easier to adopt into families.
All of the dogs receive vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. An adoption fee of $125 helps to offset veterinary expenses.
If you would like to adopt one of the prison dogs, please call George Scott at the prison direct 419-525-4455 x2023. between the hours of 7:30 to 3 weekdays.
