I have a privately run rescue that is dedicated to helping all breeds, including mixed breeds, needing new homes. I rescue horses, goats, dogs, and cats. I try to help as many as I can but I am limited on space and funding. I do rescue many dogs from the pound and also help with owner surrenders needing to place their farm and house pets.
Scioto County is coming along with making changes to help stop the over pet population but it takes time. With changes made at our local Dog Shelter to spay/neuter all pets being adopted and Sierra's Haven www.sierrashaven.org doing low-cost spay/neuter clinic for low-income families. Maybe in a few years we will see some changes with the huge overpopulation of pets.
Please encourage friends and family to rescue and not buy from breeders or pet stores. Even if you want a purebred pet, you can still rescue one! Encourage everyone to spay and neuter their pets. We are nowhere near a shortage of dogs and cats, and with the rising costs of owning horses, their fate is the same. Please spread the word and be proactive in making positive changes in our community!

foster homes (people willing to hold on to pets while they are being vetted and awaiting a new home) all vet bills will be paid by rescue, foster homes will be required to buy food and supply the love. Some dogs need help with socialization prior to being adopted,
paper towels,
bleach, dogs crates and kennels.
For the horses, we need,
Hay-round or square bale
12% sweet feed
Dewormers like pyrantel, ivermectin, zimecterin gold, and panacur
Money to pay for vet bills
Halters
Lead ropes
any old equipment that may be beneficial
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please email us for an application. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and heartworm tested prior to adoption. All male horses will be castrated. All horses are trained and evaluated and assessed to provide the best home possible.
