There are so many Great Pyrenees that are showing up in local shelters- more than I have ever seen before. PLEASE, PLEASE, research about this breed before you go out and get a Great Pyrenees! They are adorable as puppies, but they grow into large, hairy, drooling (sometimes) dogs. Great Pyrs do make wonderful companions, and are usually good w/ kids. They are EXTREMELY intelligent, and can think and make their own choices. If you are looking for a white version of a golden retriever, THIS IS NOT THE BREED FOR YOU! Who We Are
Bigdoghouse Rescue is run by myself (Kiki) and my husband (Mike) and a little help from our friends! We are located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The best way to reach us is by Email which we check several times daily. Our goal is to place Great Pyrenees into loving, permanant homes. We do require fences,( no electric fences) home visits, and an approved contract, before any dog is placed into a permanant home.
Adopting a friend
An adoption contact and home visit are required before any dog is placed. There is an adoption fee of $250 which covers the cost of the veterinary care. A fenced yard is a MUST- please no electric fences. You can email us if you are interested in one of the dogs we have listed. I will be taking a break from rescue for a while...it has become too overwhelming for me at this point in my life..I will continue to place the dogs I have, BUT I will NOT be taking in any more dogs.. updated 3/7/09
