Who We Are

The Humane Society of Erie County is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for our animals in Erie County, through a progressive animal shelter, public humane education and leadership in developing and supporting legislation in animal welfare.

Adopting a friend

**Medical Procedures**
DOGS INCLUDE: Bloodscreening for heartworm. Vaccinations are given. Fecals are checked and treated for parasites. Ears are checked and treated for infection and they are flea bathed. All our dogs will be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. -- All dogs are evaluated for temperment to assure they are not aggressive. Our adoption fees for dogs are $60.00.
CATS / KITTENS INCLUDE: Blood testing for feline leukemia. Vaccinations are given. Fecals are checked and treated for parasites. Ears are cleaned and treated for infection/mites. All the cats / kittens are sprayed with frontline for fleas. All Cats / Kittens will be spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter. Our adoption fee for cats are $60.00.

Adoption Hours Are: Monday & Tuesday (1:00p to 6:00p) Thursday & Friday (1:00p to 6:00p) Saturday (1:00p to 4:00p) CLOSED: Sundays and Wednesdays **We do adoptions up until a half hour before closing**
