Since we operate solely out of foster homes and have no permanent shelter (YET!), please email for information on a specific animal. Our fosters live in our homes, and are part of our families. All are socialized, vaccinated, wormed, checked for fleas, ear mites, and other diseases. Age appropriate animals are spayed/neutered, and most cats are FIV/Felk tested. THANK YOU for considering a rescue animal.

The following items are much needed (and can be dropped off at Petsmart on Saturdays):

 Dry and canned food (dog, puppy, cat, & kitten)

 Kitty litter

 TOYS TOYS TOYS!!!!

 Frontline or Advantage flea treatments (dog & cat)

 Old towels & blankets

New/used leashes & collars

 New/used carriers, cages, or crates

 New pet beds

 KMR kitten milk replacement

 Feliway plug in replacements

 Flea combs and brushes

 Yarn and crochet hooks for cat blankets

 Monetary donations help us pay for shots, wormer, and other vet services

Buffy (seen here with pan leuk survivor Hansel) is one of those rare cats who has it all. Looks, purr-sonality galore, and so so ornery. She loves other cats and people. Everyone who meets her cannot believe she is still looking for a home!

Ten Commandments for a Responsible Pet Owner

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainments but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I have teeth that could easily crush the bones in your hand and yet I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old.

10. On the difficult journey, on the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there because I love you so.

Take a moment today to thank God for your companions. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful thing without God's critters. Please pass this on to other pet owners.

We do not have to wait for heaven to be surrounded by hope, love and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four feet.

Did you know...?

Dumping an animal is against the law. If you ever witness an animal being dumped, get involved! Record the license plate and try to get a description of the car and the driver. Do it in honor of the animals who weren't so lucky...

"The world is a dangerous place;

not because of those who do evil,

but because of those who look on and do nothing."

Our Mission

The mission of the Coalition for Animal Concerns is to improve the quality of life for the animals of Stark County, Ohio, through spay/neuter and educational programs. This mission reflects the Coalition's path toward a "Journey of New Hope" for the animals.

  4. Assistance for seniors.
  5. Re-homing assistance
