Who We Are
Golden Years Senior Greyhounds was founded in response to the need for homes for older greyhounds, retired brood bitches and stud dogs, still living on breeding farms in the midwest.
GYSG is an international referral program that promotes and publicizes senior Greyhounds seeking homes throughout the United States and Canada. GYSG is a member of the Rescue Alliance of Hairless & Other Breeds, Inc., a nationwide nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
Until you have looked into the eyes of a senior dog and learned their wisdom,
held a sick or injured dog in your arms and felt their pain,
and had your face smothered in sloppy kisses from a puppy...and smiled,
you can't possibly know the life of a rescuer.
We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces.
It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness, and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.
We are Rescue.
