NOTICE: PLEASE PHONE THE SHELTER TO SEE IF THE EXACT PET YOU HAVE VIEWED HERE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. ADOPTIONS TAKE PLACE QUICKLY - BUT THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE NEW TO LOVE! PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH THE UPDATING OF PICTURES AND FILES - WE ARE PRIMARILY A VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION AND THIS IS A VERY HECTIC TIME OF YEAR. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING. :)
Our Featured Pets are...
CATS>>>KITTENS>>>KITTIES>>>PURRPALS!
Please stop in today and see if we don't have a feline friend (or 2) for you to call your very own!
Since there is no government agency currently dealing with the problem of cat populations, shelters like ours take in LOTS AND LOTS of kitties this time of year!
Everyone has been spay/neutered and received preliminary shots. AND we have a VERY LOW adoption fee considering all of the love, food and vet bills
taken care of by the shelter.
Cats require a minimal amount of expense and a maximum of love and understanding - stop by and find a friend today!
THANK YOU Due to the incredible generosity of Brad & Jill Matthewson, owners of Catawba Clean Scene, HSOC has none of the headaches most shelters suffer regarding washers/dryers/laundry supplies. As a result, we have more time to devote to animal care! So if you need to wash your vehicle or your laundry, please visit them at 480 South Catawba Road! We can't thank the Matthewson's enough!!

HAVE SOME TIME and TALENT TO SPARE?
Now would be a great time to volunteer!!!
We have an ever increasing need for dedicated volunteers.
Do you take a walk in the evenings anyway?
Why not stop by the shelter and sign up to walk dogs one evening a week?
Like to take a drive in the country?
We work with several veterenarians in several counties and can always use help transporting animals to their appointments (animals are in animal carriers and cannot "mess" your car or stick their noses on your windows).
Are you organized, creative and have energy to spare?
Why not drop by a board meeting and volunteer to help out with a fundraiser? We have a few established annual events but we are always open to new ideas and in need of energetic people!
BOARD MEETING: SecondThursday of each month at the Port Clinton Public Library. Begins at 5:30pm. Open to the public.....call the office for details.
Who We Are
We are the Humane Society of Ottawa County (HSOC).
We are a non-profit animal shelter with facilities to shelter and find new homes for cats and dogs.
We receive NO government funding and rely on donations and adoption fees to keep us going.
Our goal is to turn unwanted, uncared for and abused animals into loving members of new families.
We are dedicated to a program of spaying and neutering animals to ensure that more animals find their way into caring homes.
We maintain a "NO KILL" standard within humane guidelines.
Adopting a friend
NEW ADOPTION FEES:
Cats $50.00
kittens $60.00
Dogs $85.00
Puppies (under 6mo) $95.00
All animals have received their shots, worming, blood tests and spay/neutering by the time they are available for adoption.
An adoption application must be filled out in order to be considered as an adoptive parent.
We reserve the right to deny an adoption if there is any question as to whether the animal will be receiving a good home.
Come Visit Us!
We are located at the corner of East Sand Road and North Christy Chapel Road in Port Clinton, Ohio.
