CELL DOG PROGRAMS
Please visit our website if you would like to find out more about one of our two Cell Dog programs, where the inmates are making a difference in the lives of Homeless pets.
The Cell Dogs Programs place homeless
shelter dogs or owner surrendered dogs in State Correctional Institutions to
be obedience trained by carefully selected inmates. The dog training
program, taught by volunteers from Purebred Rescue Organization and Pawsitive
Pet Solutions of Dayton Ohio, teaches inmates how to obedience train dogs during
an 8 week course. Each animal has one primary inmate trainer and one
secondary inmate trainer.
Upon graduation, the dogs are highly adoptable and possess obedience skills such
as how to heel, sit, recall, and stay. They are also housed trained, leash
trained, have been introduced to the basics of Crate Training and are responsive
to voice commands and some hand signals.

Who We Are
Purebred Rescue Organization of Ohio, Inc. is a 501(c)(3)not for profit organization that is comprised of Volunteers who are dedicated to the Rescue and placement of unwanted canines into permanent homes. These Volunteers receive no payment for their efforts only the personal satisfaction and sense of accomplishment they feel when placing a rescued purebred into a loving forever home. Our Rescue Representatives, Foster homes, and other volunteers are accepted after a thorough interview and home visit. Each receives training on proper placement procedures and the care of rescue dogs. The PRO team is comprised of people with various levels of expertise. We are always looking for more caring volunteers to join the PRO team.
