Our new facility is up and running! Our open house went very well with four dogs and 6-7 cats adopted that day! We can only hope that you all will keep coming out to see us and the changing inventory of animals. Please come check us out. You may find a new best friend!
We have lots of fundraisers and public appearances coming up. Watch our ad in the News Journal every other week for dates and details. It's the best way to keep tabs on our whereabouts.
Who We Are
The Humane Society of Richland County is a nonprofit charitable organization. Our mission is to provide safe and humane treatment for the animals of Richland County, to educate the public as to the proper care of animals and to assist with or initiate prosecution of those who mistreat animals.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fees are $75 for cats and $175 for dogs. Every animal is spayed/neutered, given age appropriate vaccinations, flea treated, de-wormed, microchipped and feline leukemia or heartworm tested prior to adoption. Many of our dogs are obedience trained, crate trained and house trained during a stay at the MANCI TLC dog training program. We require potential adopters to fill out an adoption application which can be done in person or downloaded from our website
Come Visit Us!
Our staff is currently moving operations from our current location to our new location. We will be closed to the public for several days in order to organize the shelter and become familiar with new procedures. If you need assistance in the next week please call and leave a message. Someone will return your call as soon as possible. Our grand opening is set for May 30. We can hardly wait!
