THE BROWN COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER IS COMPLETELY SELF-SUFFICIENT AND IS FUNDED ENTIRELY BY: DOG AND KENNEL LICENSE SALES, ADOPTIONS, OWNER REDEMPTIONS AND GIVE-UPS, CITATIONS, MICRO-CHIPPING, AND DONATIONS.


DONATIONS of certain items are always needed and appreciated for shelter operations: CLOROX , DAWN DISH DETERGENT, PAPER TOWELS, DOG FOOD, (SOFT AND DRY), DOG BONES, WORM MEDICATION, FLEA AND TICK TREATMENT, DOG LEASHES, COLLARS, AND MONETARY DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL NOTE: We are NOT out of food, but can always use donations because we are a SELF-SUFFICIENT shelter for Brown County. Thank you to all whom have donated to the shelter!!!

Who We Are

WE ARE THE COUNTY ANIMAL (DOG) SHELTER, SERVICING ALL OF BROWN COUNTY, OHIO.
OUR MAIN JOB IS TO ENFORCE THE OHIO REVISED CODES FOR THE STATE OF OHIO. OUR OFFICERS WORK HARD TO ENSURE THE SAFETY AND CARE OF THE COUNTY'S ANIMAL POPULATION, EDUCATE THE PUBLIC, AND UPHOLD ALL DEFINED LAWS. THE SHELTER HANDLES ANIMAL SURRENDERS, OWNER CLAIMS, COMPLAINTS, DOG AND KENNEL LICENSES, AND LOST AND FOUND REPORTS. WE DO NOT TAKE CATS, NOR DO WE TAKE DOGS FROM OUTSIDE BROWN COUNTY.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption fee is $57.00 for all dogs or puppies, this includes the current year license tag. We do take in owner give ups(dogs and/ or puppies) from Brown County residents ONLY!! The fee is $25.00 per dog.

Come Visit Us!

We are located east of Cincinnati just off of US Rte. 68 on Veterans Blvd. in Brown County. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm, and Saturdays 10:00am - 3:00pm. We are CLOSED on SUNDAYS and all LEGAL HOLIDAYS .
